Now THAT is unusual.

Once in a blue moon one might fit that way, but to have 3 fit perfectly is a full-blown miracle.

Congratulations on living right!!

Wow, that was amazing.  How many times would that happen in an older house or even a newer one for that matter?  You must have been really holding your mouth right for that to happen.

:trustme: on this.  When you get an old house, you throw away your level, your square and your hammer and nails.  You buy yourself to battery powered drill drivers.  One to drill the holes and one to drive the dry wall screws and a plumb bob.

A chalk line serves you better than a plumb bob on a house that's out of square.

You chalk your plumb bob line for vertical lines.  That's good for the first line for wall paper or paneling.  Chalk lines and a little string level works for horizontal lines.   I see that you've been an old house too.

More than you know.  We finally came to the conclusion that the person who built the house we lived in had a level that was off since it seemed everything was off but looked square.  Some of the windows were 3/4 of an inch off, the bathroom cabinet sat level but we found out when we took it out to do the walls it had been cut off on the side next to the tub almost an inch to set level but the bathroom floor showed no signs of being off.  It was funny when we carried it to the other room and sat it down and it leaned drastically.  We were like "what the heck is this?"  Then he measured each corner of the wall the tub sat on for the tub surround and did the chalk line, cut the panel and it didn't fit    So he checked again figuring he measured wrong, cut another piece and it didn't fit   Well he went to the middle where the problem seemed to be and sure enough it was a shorter distance in the middle that it was in each corner to the tub rim but the ceiling didn't look off.  When we rehung the wall cabinet it had to be hung off kilter to look straight 'cause if you leveled it properly it looked tilted....   We had siding put on, it was a block house, and the guy's that did that had a heck of a time too but it came out ok in the end.  The plumbing was another exercise in terror but I won't go in to that.

I know I when though the same thing.  But I got it fixed, good enough for me and I wouldn't trade it for one of these look the same, white pine, tooth pick new ones with their high taxes.  I think the $397 in property taxes on it are just fine.  It not for sale or trade.  Welllllll maybe if the price was high enough.
