That was the first shot fired in the great pigeon Holocaust of suburban Chicago. (I bought a nice BB rifle that afternoon).  :icon_twisted:
That sounds so much like the late, great Jean Shepherd, I have to ask -- are you channeling?

He wrote "A Christmas Story" among other things, for those of you who don't know the work of this wonderfully eloquent native of "da Region."

It robs them of their voice in public affairs, pollutes the political culture and turns debate over profound issues into a shouting match of polarized views promulgated by partisan apologists who trivialize democracy while refusing to speak the truth about how our country is being plundered" Bill Moyers

Very nice!  When I was there for my cousin's wedding, I saw a couple of countdown clocks that were counting down to St. Patrick's day.  I understand that they have the third largest St. Patrick's day celebration in the United States.  I'm not sure where numbers 1 and 2 are.  ;D

If I lived closer, I'd be knocking on the door w/my bowl. LoL! I'd even bring lil' Mojo so you could take her for a ride on the hog. She'd love that.

We went for a car ride on Sunday and drove past one of the favorite watering holes for Harley enthusiasts. It's an awesome place. They boast to have the best mudslide recipe and they normally have a band out back. The "backyard" is really cool, because it's all sand. The best feature, in my daughter's (and probably your opinion ;D) is the enormous parking lot around the front and side. This weekend it was a sea of two wheeled chrome from end to end. We were going to stop so she could check out the bikes, but it was REALLY crowded and in all honesty I didn't see how a car could successfully drive through the lot.

Anyway...someday maybe
