November?  Really?  I hope it isn't crap!

Supposedly:

runs more aps, takes better pics, even at night, and can run e-mail including open attachments, more powerful, blah, blah, blah. . . Verizon has it but I am under contract with Sprint for another year and a half. . . Probably be cool but I won't get it for at least 2 years. Price should come down by then and maybe Apple will answer. . .

For a change we got our stuff done in plenty of time.  The bird bath is cleaned up and taken down for winter, the paint's dry, we already got our runnin' done and the grocery's carried in, and a couple of other things so let it rain we're ready..........

I went "Krogering" for the 10 for $10 deals this morning, hauled in the hoses, cut down the remains of the flowers, turned over the flower beds, mulched, played with Lil Puppy, hauled in the trash dumpsters after they were emptied,. . . Yup, I'm ready for Ricky. . .

Just wish it were colder so it'd be snow instead!  :icon_twisted: :snowcld: :snowcld: :snowcld: :snowcld: :snowcld: :snowcld: :snowcld: :snowcld: :snowcld: :LIS:

We got some of that pork loin that was on sale.  We eat a lot of it and the guy who cuts it like he has some brains was there so we got 4 of them.  I'm referring to the store on 29th of course.  Got a bunch of the 10 fers too so we're pretty well stocked.

I get to stay out of the meat department this winter. I put a cow and a pig, along with several chickens inside the big freezer last month.  Got room left for a deer or two, and that's on my list of fall activities. A brace or two of pheasant will be joining them!

We bought another one of those Food-Savers to seal it all up with. If you don't have one check them out! They extend the time you can keep stuff in the freezer substantially:yes:  Our old one burned out finally after several years of abuse. (Wally world had the best prices on them, and we looked everywhere before we bought. What else am I doing anyway?)

If it works, the Food Saver, let me know.  I had an older Seal A Meal and I loved it but I tried two of the newer ones and they didn't seal as well because they didn't get hot enough to seal the bags properly and they sat in the freezer and unsealed.
I just wrap meat, each piece separately, in plastic wrap put them in freezer bags and squeeze the air out before I seal the bag completely and it works fine for me.  Somehow we missed rotating some chicken breasts and we found a package that was almost two years old and they were still fine.

I haven't had pheasant for years.  Where do you find it?  I like quail too but those cornish game hens are almost as good.

It works great. The old one was a Food Saver and it worked just fine. Keeps meat and veggies fresh for a couple years and no freezer burn. We bought this one about a month ago and it works just like the one it replaced.

In the fields right outside of town. I've got a Remington 870 Express 12 gauge that brings them down just fine!

I've got a buddy who swears he knows a nice field in Georgia (he happens to own it) and he says it is full of quail. He keeps threatening to take me to it. I may let him this season.

Upland game is all I hunt.

And, yes, I use an 870. Very old.
Ignorance and fanaticism are ravenous. They require constant feeding.

I love my 870. I've had it about 12-15 years or so. Got a slug barrel for it too and have dropped a few deer with it as well. I have another one that I put into riot gun configuration. I picked it up cheap since it was used and beat up a bit. Cleaned up real nice though!  Nothing like em.
