Dang, McClure's is giving a discount on gas for paying cash now.  We paid $2.52pr gal and got $20 but paid only $19.61.  Works for me....
I guess I should have announced that 3 weeks ago when I first saw it.  LOL
Looks like I've come full circle.

Yes you should have.  This is the first time we've gotten gas for about 3 weeks though so we were pleasantly surprised.  I hope more of the stations follow suit.

A lot of stations down here in the Devil's Playground give discounts for cash. That's because they have to pay a percentage of total credit card receipts to the credit card companies. I think the lowest is still 4% of the ticket price. I like the convenience of just sliding the card and paying at the pump, but for the discount, I'll walk inside and hand over folding money.
This is the first around here to my knowledge but we only go a couple of places to buy gas, McClure's and Ricker's.

I usually get my gas at Gas America. Every so often they will give a 3 cent discount with your convenience card, as will Speedway.

You also earn 10 points per gallon at Gas America when you use the convenience card. And 60 points per dollar spent when you purchase anything else in the store (except alcohol and cigarettes), and 10 points per lottery tickets.  When you acquire 6000 points you get a 3 dollar in store check.  I rarely buy anything there but cigarettes and gas, so it takes a long time to get the $3 reward.

There's also the the 10 cents off per gallon you get whenever you spend over a $100 a month at Payless in groceries.  I always have the 10 cent discount available, I just don't find it that cost effective to drive over to Cross street to see what they are charging for gas. LOL

We had started the Gas America thing a couple of years ago but McClure's and Ricker's is just more convenient for us and usually cheaper.

Swifty's in Pendleton always give 5 cents off if you pay cash and pump it yourself. Their regular price has always been as low as anyplace in Anderson so it can be quite a savings. We live on the south side of Anderson so it is not far for us to go. Worth the money, exp when you are filling two vehicles and get almost 49 gallons of gas at a time.

Wow, I'll have to remember that next time we go to Lawrence and get gas there instead of here in town.

Someday soon our mall  and grocery parking lots will be filled with signs saying "Reserved for Handicapped" if we don't  start checking for those who don't  need a card.
