And though my ex had her at the time I knew the moment she crossed over because I swear the dog appeared to me at that moment and I was overwhelmed with a sense of sorrow. The next morning my ex told me the dog had passed. Losing both of those pets ripped my heart a good one, until Max came along.

BTW- its really strange I'm talking about this because guess where I stopped on my visit to Chicago this week. . . To visit that grave site of my departed cat. Strange I know, but I was driving past it on the way to my hotel and when I realized it I just had to stop. . .
Ya know.... cats tend to pull away when they're suffering. They don't like to be fussed over. The morning I had Champ put down, she wouldn't let me hold her. That's when I knew it was time to let her go. I know the look of disgust they get in their eyes when they want to go. They get to a point where you can almost read it in their faces, that they think you should do something. That sounds crazy as hell but, it has been my experience. Cats are very private creatures, and it appears that they think it is undignified to be sick or dying. They seem to have a lot of pride.

Also.... it isn't strange to go visit a beloved pet's grave. I go out to Champ's grave almost daily when the weather is decent. Of course, she is buried in the back yard so, that's more acessable. Ya know..... pets add soooo much to our lives,that I can't imagine life without them.  :smile:
