I think it is pretty cool that he is doing this....he helps raise money for police charities....probably more so, than some joe blow would...

Just how is he doing that Henry? He's working the 11PM to 7AM shift 3 nights a year???? Is he shaking down prostitutes, pimps, and druggies?

Re: Eric Estrada - I heard on the radio, yesterday as a matter of fact, that he has tax issues.

Oh and California Highway patrols are seriously know as CHPs (CHiPs).  That was a lil' weird when I moved here. ;D

Crap. We were going to dinner and along the way someone had hit a cat. As we passed the poor kitty it lay writhing in my headlights as I swerved to avoid administration of the kill shot, more out of instinct than anything else. I'd have rather had finished him off to end its suffering. The sight of it pretty much tempered my appetite at dinner. . . :'(

This probably sounds really bad but, one time there was a kitten laying underneath my car, and I didn't know it was there. I backed over it, and it sort of blew its intestines out, and it was still alive. It took everything in me to do it but, I ran over it again, and   killed it. I hated to do that but, I couldn't leave it like that. It was going to die anyway. There was nothing short of a miracle that would save the poor thing. Boy I hated that.  :'(

I'm glad someone else understood my predicament! Sometimes the most humane thing to do for an injured or sick animal is to end its misery. Hard to do but necessary. . .

Not strange at all. . . I had a cat once for a number of years. She eventually started acting different and I could tell she didn't feel good. I took her to the vet and we found out she was riddled with cancer. When she got to the point she couldn't eat I purchased a grave site at a local pet cemetery and took her to the vet to be put down. I built the box to put her in and took along her favorite blanket when we went to the vet. I said goodbye to her and held her as the vet gave her the shot. She died looking me in the face, but I swear that through the tears I sensed she was thankful to have it ended. . . We buried her while she was still warm and swaddled in her blanket as I nailed the box shut.

We visited from time to time for a long period of time, and always took along her playmate (a dalmatian we owned also), each time we went. The dog always laid down on top of the grave and whined each time we took her along. . . Several years later the dog also departed. And though my ex had her at the time I knew the moment she crossed over because I swear the dog appeared to me at that moment and I was overwhelmed with a sense of sorrow. The next morning my ex told me the dog had passed. Losing both of those pets ripped my heart a good one, until Max came along.

BTW- its really strange I'm talking about this because guess where I stopped on my visit to Chicago this week. . . To visit that grave site of my departed cat. Strange I know, but I was driving past it on the way to my hotel and when I realized it I just had to stop. . .

It's always the right thing to end an animals suffering. Be it euthanasia or other means. To walk away from an animal that is suffering like that. is just wrong on soooo many levels. It is extremely hard, and you shouldn't feel bad for not doing it. It's even harder to euthanize a pet that is terminally ill..... you just feel like you're signing their death warrant, when they present you with the permission to euthanize form.  :'(
