What does the color of his adoptive parents have to do with him? I know whites who have adopted black and mixed children and blacks who have adopted white children.  Just because he disrespected the flag doesn't  mean he is a racist. I knew a kid growing up who wouldn't  stand for the flag, he is white and it was against his religion to pledge allegiance to a flag and to say under God. He was no more a racist than I am. It shows disrespect to me not racism.

No, you are doing that quite well yourself. You are the one who is making something out of the fact that he is adopted and by a white couple. The color of his skin doesn't  matter. He is an adult and parent/s can not control what their adult children do and say.
