Yeah, Karma will have its role in this matchup; and the Manning story is not the only one to be a candidate for influence within it.

Michael Oher, the one that the movie "The Blind Side" was based upon, is a member of the Carolina Panthers. So it would seem Karma has a choice to make.

Which one will it be?

Yeah, the opposite of the Carolina game in which Cam Newton and company had their way with the Cardinals. (Cats eat birds!)

I'm hoping Super Bowl 50 is a shoot out that sees back and forth lead changes; ending with Manning getting his second ring. That would be a storybook ending to his career if this is the point where he chooses to get out and do something else.

I fear if they do not win, he'll go the Farve track of playing for yet another team and trying to get that ending. The fact is, if the doesn't get it in SB 50, he will not find a better team, at a better time again.

And the whole ignoring of the role their backup QB played in keeping them in the mix by putting up wins while Manning sat on the sidelines hurt, is just totally unacceptable. Not one single word of acknowledgement from anyone on the team was made. But the fact is if he isn't the starter next season, (the backup I mean), then he's going somewhere else. And that in my opinion would be a HUGE mistake on Denver's part.

I agree, I think it was kind of sad, had Brock Osweiler was not mentioned by anyone while the Lamar Hunt trophy was passed out.....Had this kid not come in and performed as he did, the bronco's would be on vacation right now.

I also agree that Manning needs to hang up his cleats after this game and head off to the broadcast booth or start his career in the coaching business.  He has a great deal of pressure to become a 2 and 2 SB QB or a 1 and 3 SB QB.....his last chance to match his kid brothers SB rings.

Regardless, Peyton will go down as perhaps the greatest QB to ever play the game.....

btw, did anyone watch that goofy video I attached..............it makes me laugh every time I play it.  ;D

It would seem the cat is out of the bag surrounding what Peyton plans to do at season's end; win or lose.

As ALL of our employers are so inclined, the NFL was snooping on Manning as he and Beli boy exchanged pleasantries after the game. And the video is all over the place revealing that Peyton indicated to Beli Boy  that it "may be his last rodeo". So the retirement rumor may have some validation.

I did watch the video and I laughed. It was a bit "juvenile" though!  :big grin:

I know many say Lady Gaga did an outstanding job but personally I would prefer if they would let the Armed Services sing the National Anthem and save the pop singers for the half time show.

Oh sweet angel of death take me now. . . . Another shitty half-time show. Only difference between this one and the last 10-15, is they've been hawking it as being "almost time for the halftime show" since the end of the very first play!

What was up with that?  A whole lot of pushing for quite a mediocre show.  Should have given more time to Bruno Mars.  There's a guy on Twitter named God (@TheTweetofGod) who said, "I loved the Coldplay halftime show, except for the part with Coldplay. #SB50"

Well despite his amazing talents, Cam Newton is going to end up winning the Tom Brady Award - for the most hated QB in the league.

This chump LOVES to show-off when he wins, but has a lot to learn about losing.  I understand competitiveness and hating to lose has a lot to do with the make up of a winner........but, having class is something all of the greats learn to have.  He doesn't have any at this point of his career....NONE, ZILCH, NADA.

With that being said, I certainly hope after Mr. Manning passed out his hugs and kisses, and drank several Budweisers...that he has come to the solid conclusion that NOW, is a GREAT time to retire his #18 Jersey, and find a new line of work to earn a few more million to add to his checking account.

BTW, HE is the epitome of what it takes to be a Classy athlete.  Despite his poor performance in the victory, he played a HUGE role in the Bronco's achieving this win....and has every right to be proud.

Nice Job Peyton!!

and WOW....what a performance by the Bronco's Defense and a tip of the hat to Wade Phillips, who deserves much credit.

Outside of a miserable half time show and some stupid commercials........I was entertained quite well by SB 50!  8)

The sound left a WHOLE lot to be desired as a starter. It MIGHT have risen above my cat puking in entertainment value had they tried to get the sound right. . . But hell no.

It also kind of pissed me off that they felt obligated to trot out the militant T & A. . .  :roll eyes:

There is no doubt what-so-ever that Denvers' defense carried Peyton Manning to his 2nd SB win in 50. Even he admitted that in several interviews I saw and read from him. He was basically a non-sequitor in the whole process outside of taking snaps. But he admitted that too, so I will give him props that are in my opinion earned.

Cam Newton is one hell of an athlete, but he is young. Really young. And the whole time he was sitting there during the post game, his opponents in said post game were sitting well within earshot of him; trashing him and punking him verbally. He had one hell of a season, but despite his skills and talent, he has not had time to develop the character that he will need to carry him through such disappointment. And on the other side of this, perhaps it is a much needed lesson for him in how his own antics are perceived when he showboats and "celebrates" excessively.

I've known Denvers' defense was #1 in the league for a reason, but what I did not know was that reason was Wade Phillips. I dislike the man. I think he is a sad sack of an individual; or was at least in his time with the Cowgirls. But this season he showed me and the rest of the world what he is capable of if given the talent to play the roles that are needed to make it happen. I am pleasantly surprised at what he has done with Denver, and I sincerely hope he can build upon this to achieve greater things.

I also know first-hand, just how much experience plays a role in championship matches such as the Super Bowl. Talent can enable an individual to achieve great things, and if they are a member of team whose members also possess talent, the sky is the limit. But take away experience and the seasoning it provides, and even talent can be overcome. I think the Broncos showed us that yesterday.

I am absolutely pleased that the stars ( or planets) aligned and have provided Peyton Manning with a best case scenario within which to exit on top from his chosen profession. And exit I do believe he will, as a player.  200th career win puts him in front of Farve and in the all time category at number 1. (Just 1 in front of Farve).
His 2nd SB win is the second jewel needed to cap a career that is overflowing with records held by this man. And I strongly believe he realizes it is a young mans' game and he is no longer a young man. I could see it in the grimaces on his face with each and every single throw he made yesterday. (Which were far below what he would have done 15 years ago).

Cam Newton may very well break a few of those records in his career, but not unless he learns that in order to achieve longevity in his chosen profession he has to exercise discretion in choosing to run, and to slide early to avoid potentially career ending/limiting injuries like those Manning himself has endured.

The regret I feel in knowing that I just watched the very last game of the man I consider the very best quarterback of my lifetime, is that it took so long for a defensive line and offensive line to be assembled around him in his career. Not until the final season did he get the teammates he so richly deserved all along. Imagine what he could have achieved if they had been there for the lions share of his career! And that is a shame, but despite it all he had a hall of fame career anyway.

What will he do next? That's anyones' guess I suppose and there is no shortage of speculation around that. Being a Pizza Guy is likely the least amongst the possibilities though; in my opinion. I just wonder how long it is going to take for the coaching offers to start rolling in from the various teams?

And yeah, I've heard all of the speculation surrounding NFL Team Ownership. I personally don't think that's in the cards, but if it is it will likely be Tennessee that he places into his portfolio. Back to where he started.

I just hope he can physically and mentally stick around the sport long enough to pass along his talent to several generations of young players and coaches in some capacity. If he doesn't the league and the sport itself is losing a tremendous opportunity in my opinion.  No announcer role for this man. The sport still needs him!
