It's definite, he will be a Bronco and will keep #18 on his jersey. I am really going to miss him playing with the Colts. Hope he does well.

I would like to know what the real story about him leaving.  I wouldn't put anything pass Jim Irsy.

You know there has been a LOT of talk about Manning's future, especially within the media, water coolers, and coffee pots in Indianapolis over the last year or so. Most of that talk has surrounded how "broken" he is and how "short term" his future prospects are. . . I include myself in that majority group.

What has not been spoken about much is the "what if" scenario surrounding him being totally back at some point. What if he takes off right where he left off, starting with snap one with the Broncos? What if he takes them to the big show, once, twice, or even three times over the next 4-6 years?

What if he actually takes Denver to the top of their game, as he did with Indy, and ends his career with enough championship rings to fill the fingers of one hand?

How friggin stupid are the Colts going to look? How betrayed are the Colts fans going to feel? (by the Colts)

Granted, looking at historic QB's who were at the helm of dynasty teams, and then were traded, the odds don't seem to be in favor of this happening. But then again, the exception exists to prove the rule right?

And I have to say, with so many teams top medical personnel having gone over the man, and his medical records, and providing their respective stamps of approval without fail, one has to consider that  with so many doctors agreeing on something there has to be something very real there. . .

I know a few long time Denver fans who have absolutely hated Peyton Manning; I wonder how they'll feel about him should he prove to be the exception that proves the rule?

Fate has a quirky way of arriving in the strangest of settings, and in the NFL things do not get much stranger than the "Manning Drama" the last couple of years have turned out to be.

It may end up being a big fiasco, and the odds say that is exactly what it will be. But what if????

I am very happy for Manning....though I would have loved to see him retire five years from now with the colts.....Palehorse, you bring up a great question with the "what if" scenerio.
My take is, that I understand where Irsay is coming from....IF, Andrew Luck would NOT be available for the Colts to grab, I think taking a chance on Manning would have been absolute.  From what many, if not most of the "so-called" experts are claiming that Luck is a rare breed with amazing talent.  Had Irsay passed his chance on Luck and kept Manning we can take a look at another "what if" scenerio.....Luck becomes the next "Manning" and Manning perhaps never returns to the caliber of player he once was.....THEN how mad would the Colts fans be?

I am now, a Colts fan, a Bronco's fan and of course, my heart is always with da Bears!.....so having three teams to follow with a passion this next year will only satisfy my thirst for the game even more.

If Denver can provide a good defense to keep them from Manning, they're going to be a killer team.

WOW!! I like Sean Payton tooo!!  There is a fine line on this whole bounty program.....I like to know more about the specifics of what he did wrong.

Probably aiding and abetting at worst, or simply turning a blind eye at a minimum.

I just hope the ruling gets the attention of everyone in every sport, at every level. We all need to think about what we encourage and what we reward.

I agree........but, every player out there is trying their best to HIT the QB as hard as they can....to have him, leave the game if at all possible.  I'm sure EVERY coach in the league WANTS his defense to attack the QB with every ounce of their might.....to have the backup QB to take the next snap.

That does NOT mean they want them to be seriously injured.....or even injured, but rather to be rattled beyond comprehension.

You know what I'm trying to say?

Yes I do and I'd like to see you go out for quarter back for the Colts.     :colts:

I do.  But there's a difference between a robust and aggressive defense and trying to physically maim people, and rewarding should a successful maiming occur.
