If there were no demand for that type of business there wouldn't be any.  Yes, they may be taking advantage of people but they are also giving the people a service who don't have the connections to sell their items for what they're worth.  Hell, you get the same thing in a music store or anyplace else that deals in used merchandise not just pawn shops although they may be a little worse since that is their business.  You two sure seem to have a problem with people making money don't ya?  Well, anyone but yourselves that is.

  No problem of people making money.  But, sure have a problem with people ripping off other people to make a buck.

  Pawn shops, like pay day loans, car title loan companies with their 50% or higher interest loans are immoral.  That probably why you like them.  We're going to have to get you a job of buying blood from homeless people and giving them $10 for a pint of blood.  We then could call  you a business woman instead of vampire.

If you have more people selling than buying that is not a good thing ya know.  You have to look at both sides of the business not just one.

  Hey Lady, I owned my own private business for over 40 years.  I was a plumber and I could have ripped all of my customers, but I didn't and I am proud of it.  I charge for my labor and material.  Just plan and simple.

.  Since you were around plumbing you know that most people don't know one damn thing about plumbing and the quality or fixtures or installations, it would be very easy to rip off all of the people.  If I wouldn't have fixtures or material in my house I sure wouldn't sell them to my customers.  No unhappy customers, no law suits and happy.

I think the words of Reagan apply to business........."Trust by verify".  I think as consumers, you have got to beware of what you buy.    I was raised with the addage, 'you get what you pay for'....and I fully believe that.  There have been times where I compromised and settled for the cheaper way out, and I usually regretted it.

That is a totally different thing Troll.  Yes, you had to have a certain amount of capitol to work with but you also had to charge to replace it and most of your business was labor not buying things and having to sell them at a higher cost to replace or enlarge your capitol.  In a lot of instances your charge was entirely labor with no parts involved so it was free and clear.  There is no free and clear money in the pawn shop business unless something is just given to them and they have absolutely no cost involved which rarely if ever happens.

Sold their stuff to other people for probably even less money and without the option for getting it back.  What don't you understand about it's a business and the owners aren't in it for a hobby?  You are always looking at only one side of the picture.  You come across like you think everything they make over what they payed for the merchandise is pure profit and it isn't.  They also don't sell everything they buy immediately and sometimes they have to take a loss because they make a bad buy and can't sell the merchandise at all.
