Personally, I can careless, as long as they are not breaking the law, which many OWS did.  They WANTED the pepper spray and tear gas...they WANTED the attention....THEY GOT IT.

Well, I'm not married...yet...but have been living with my girlfriend for a couple of years so I'm not exactly single, either.  She's a beautiful and amazing woman...well educated...former IBM executive...currently semi-retired so she can help care for her mother, a retired teacher, whose eyesight is failing since her husband, the stepfather, a WWII paratrooper who was also a teacher and school principle died last year.  Her paternal father was shot down over Laos early in the Vietnam conflict when she was a baby; his name in in the 28th line of the first panel of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C.  He was MIA for over 30 years.  Her mother's parents were simple people who grew up in small town Indiana near Peru.  Grandma was also a teacher and grandpa owned the local barber shop.  They were frugal and saved and invested their money...in companies like Standard Oil and the like and amassed a fortune...and died in the same house they bought shortly after they were married.  Both her parents and grandparents understood the concept of division of wealth, that is, whatever you accumulate in your life gets divided amongst your heirs, and chose to only have one child so that that one child could live better than they did...sort of the antithesis of you breeders cranking out kids with no real thought about their future or even how you might put them through school.  How many of your kids or grandkids will be rich because you spent your life focusing on nothing but the betterment of those you brought into the world?  None.

Even my grandmother, also a teacher, spaced my mother and my uncle's births four years apart so she wasn't trying to put two kids through college at the same time.  Never occured to you to do so, did it, because insuring that your children had a better life than you wasn't as important to you as cranking out kids...loser.

If you'll excuse me...my arrogant ass needs to be in the garage to finish changing the oil in my truck.

Yes, my children are wealthier than I am, partly because we made sure we put them through college and partly because they made good choices in their career paths.  Most of our friends did that too, even the ones that had more than one child. Don't talk to me about insuring the future of my children and grandchildren.

As far as the OWS people, you only had to look at one of many images of the areas they were in to see the trash. If most had jobs as you say they seemed to like living in trash.

I actually believe that your children are, Anne.  My perception of you based on your posts here is completely different from my perceptions of Henry and "me".  I think that you are a reasonable person but one with little knowledge of how the business world works today.  As such, I think your comments are generally out of your depth.

You've been proven many times here to be an abject liar but assuming what you say is true, how do your grandchildren feel about our government working in the best interests of corporations instead of the citizens they took an oath to serve?

I ran my own very small business for awhile, which isn't to say I could run a large one. However, I have worked with people in many different situations for most of my life and think I have a better than average grasp of what they face if they are homosexual, addicted, sick, mentally challenged or poor. I don't have all the answers. Some people can't be helped or don't want to be helped. Some people only want to be given everything. Some people just need a chance. You are younger than me and perhaps don't realize how much better it is for some people than it was 40 or 50 yers ago. There is still a lot to be done, but the progress that has been made should not be ignored. For the record, I still think the OWS people are in the wrong place. I think they should be at their government centers protesting instead of business, since it is the government that lets the business operate the way they do. I don't think they should interfere with other people either, blocking streets and sidewalks, etc.

White House locked down after smoke bomb thrown by protester

The Secret Service is looking for the person or persons who threw a smoke bomb at the White House during last night's "Occupy Wall Street" protests.


   

    'Occupy Congress' protesters converge on Capitol Hill

Hundreds of people marched to the White House, the Capitol and the Supreme Court Tuesday to protest corporate influence in politics.

POLITICO reported that the White House was temporarily put on lock-down Tuesday evening after a smoke bomb was thrown over the fence, according to an agent.

Occupy Congress protesters had been congregating outside the White House during the march.

The smoke bomb was thrown near the North Portico. Fire trucks and HazMat crews could be seen along Pennsylvania Avenue, which was closed down to pedestrians.

The North Side of the White House remained closed as of 11 p.m. as Secret Service and police conducted further investigations. People were allowed to leave from the South Side.

President Barack Obama was not at the White House during the incident.

Secret Service worked with MPD and Park Police to clear the scene.

No one was arrested in connection with the incident.

Just because there were no arrests doesn't mean it didn't happen it just means they haven't found the person responsible yet.
