That was the same "reasoning" they used to validate shooting those students at Kent State. Didn't work then, and it ain't working now. . .

I'm sure our resident morons will support what they're doing to these protestors and what happened at Kent State even while they pretend to abhor what the Chinese government did in Tiananmen square.  They simply don't get it.

Disclaimer: "me" will surely pipe up about how we all need to wake up and quit drinking the kool-aid and see the big picture, blah, blah, blah...

Acts of peaceful, civil disobedience are constitutionally protected within public areas. (Of which a college campus is one. Especially if students are amongst the assembly).

They made their decision to use force via chemicals, upon those assembled there, so lets see how much their student head count goes down next year. I'm betting it will drop, even as college attendance is increasing nationwide.
PH, acts of peaceful, civil disobedience are fine and good.....but, camping on a college campus is against city law.....they were kindly asked NOT to camp, but they did anyway......they were warned about the pepper spay, right or wrong....the college police was merely doing thier job.  The left loved it when this happened, they got exactly what they was hoping for.....

I sadly even believe there are those on the left who would welcome another Kent State incident, JUST for the headlines...

Like I said earlier, IF a tea party group was doing this, many on here would LOVE seeing them get pepper sprayed....

this whole thing is becoming very sad.....

Did you watch the video I posted? You see any tents in it? IS it daylight or dark?

What they had done the previous night or planned to do that night was not applicable to the situation. They pepper sprayed students of UC Davis who were doing nothing more than conducting a sit in - an act of civil disobedience conducted to demonstrate their objections.

If we didn't live in an "at will" state, I'd friggin join those doing the same thing out here.

You're just looking for ANY reason to criticize the protests.

This is Thanksgiving day and I am thankful for the men who formed this country and the freedom it gave us.

But they did not give us a Authoritarians and corporate state where the authoritarians and the wealthy ruled the country like a kingdom.  Controlling the people with the power of a paramilitary police force to rule us with an iron fist.

As Benjamin Franklin said, "Those who would give up liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserves neither liberty nor safety."   And I believe the people who believe the paramilitary/clubs/pepper spray response to the student who are  protesting the criminal action of Wall Street and the Bankers deserves neither liberty nor safety.

The Republicans are always crying about class warfare.  Well if the Authoritarians wealthy don't release their iron grip from the throats of the people of United States of America.  I am willing to give all of my weapons, ammunition and myself to take our country back.

A journalist recently solicited online responses from OWS protestors asking them what, exactly, they wanted.  He received 100 responses with the top three demands as follows:

"The No 1 agenda item: get the money out of politics. Most often cited was legislation to blunt the effect of the Citizens United ruling, which lets boundless sums enter the campaign process. No 2: reform the banking system to prevent fraud and manipulation, with the most frequent item being to restore the Glass-Steagall Act – the Depression-era law, done away with by President Clinton, that separates investment banks from commercial banks. This law would correct the conditions for the recent crisis, as investment banks could not take risks for profit that create kale derivatives out of thin air, and wipe out the commercial and savings banks.  No 3 was the most clarifying: draft laws against the little-known loophole that currently allows members of Congress to pass legislation affecting Delaware-based corporations in which they themselves are investors."

I don't see anything unreasonable about these demands nor do I see any of them having anything to do with any of these people expecting something for nothing as our Faux News brain-washed sheeple are constantly claiming.

I sure agree with you statement.  But what I don't understand is, these people who claim they love animals, kids, Jesus want to let the police and the administrators, mayors and powers that be.  Club, beat, use chemical weapons, chemical gas, Tazors on our own people in peaceful protest.  They would be the loyalist to the King in the Revolution and would have executed all of the founders of our Constitution.

I just wonder if these so called "Humans" would like the police to be this to their themselves, children and relation.  Just maybe they believe in the Old Testament, where you kill, smite, stone, behead, be-hand any person but yourself and family.

Even tho I declare myself as an Atheist.  I am a firm believer of do UN to others has you would have done to you.   Would someone please say, Amen!

some of those demands may not be so bad....but some of them may be questionable:

Single-payer health care...
Increased environmental regulation...
Federal job-training programs...
Student loan debt forgiveness...
Amnesty for illegals...
Massive expansion of public works projects...

and the bottom line is, I STILL say the are protesting the wrong people.....then need to be in Washington protesting....THEY are the problem!  THEY are the ones who can fix it.  Wallstreet WON'T FIX it...they CAN'T fix it...only Washington can fix it.....put pressure on THEM.....both parties.

Weren't you a proponent of the SCOTUS decision vis-à-vis the Citizens United case HH?  Wasn't it right here on this very forum?

Then why aren't they in D C instead of disrupting businesses and college campuses?

Then why aren't they in D C instead of disrupting businesses and college campuses?

Because based upon the SCOTUS decision, and as I've said numerous times here, the businesses now run the government based upon their unfettered ability to buy whatever / whomever they desire, (via political funding/contributions), to facilitate their businesses needs. Our votes no longer matter. They are toilet paper!
