Thank you! That was a first for me.

There is always a first time for everything, and since you did such a fine job I'd say it deserves a second time!

This is one of those days when retirement isn't so great. You know that feeling when you need something to do but everything you think of, you don't really want to do right now. So I sit here and think too much. I had a conversation with a neighbor the other day. He confided that he was bored with life. All he does is go to work every day, come home, eat dinner, watch TV until bedtime, and get up the next day and do it all over again. He talked about his marriage of 35 years and how he would never leave his wife. He talked of his marriage as being an investment that he can't just throw away. At the same time he admitted there was no "joy" in it anymore. So he endures. So I started thinking about the couples I know and how they interact with each other. And I thought "Is this the way it's supposed to be?" I can't help but remember a quote from a philosophy class I took many, many years ago - "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field."

Sorry but I'm rambling. But as I said, I am bored today.

What is happening to you happened to me.  I was feeling bad, no getup and go.  Had everything paid off didn't owe anyone a thing.  I have a wonderful wife.  But, I just didn't feel right.  It's called depression.

I was reading a Prevention magazine and see the word Male Menopause or Andropause.  Cause by the lack of testosterone.  I went to my doctor and had a test for testosterone.  It came back almost zero.  Also I did have depression and it really feels bad.  You feel like there is no hope, not good.  Testosterone makes a man a man.  Without it, you feel like crap.

I started with patches and now I have my wife give me one shot a month of testosterone.  I will tell it does make a difference.  I can feel depression coming back if I miss my shot.

Go to your doctor and get the test for Andropause, you have nothing to lose but depression.  Goggle the word Andropause.  Good luck.

Before and after
Great job Bo D. Music or music related activities is much better than pills and no side effects. :) Well, it can get a little addictive and costly but hey, ya can't beat it for getting rid of the blahs.

Music cannot beat depression.  She doesn't know one damn thing about depression or andropause or a shortage of testosterone in men.  Go see your doctor and do it now.  There might be something else wrong.  You know you are not some young rooster. :chick:

I got the old bass out yesterday and spent the entire day going over it. She's beautiful again! So then I plugged in an old practice amp and played for awhile. I really surprised myself. I can almost still play!

We recently (finally) had someone come in and tune our piano and resolve a dead key issue.  It's great to have her back!

I've tuned a few pianos over the years. It's a tough job.

Very nice. I gave my piano to my daughter and SIL when we downsized and they took it apart and refinished it and it looks and sounds great. I now have a full size keyboard and a smaller one. Dosen't sound near as good as my old upright but it will do. My SIL had a baby grand and she played classical and wrote gospel music, I would love to have had that. She passed away a few but we have a cd and are at least are able to listen to it occasionally and appreciate her music.

I had a baby grand when I was living in Anderson.  Music Today had just lost their Yamaha dealership and wanted it out of their store so I got a great deal on it!
