Why am I here? What is my purpose in life?

You don't have a purpose! You are here just to be. You fall through life just like everyone. Make the best of it while you can and enjoy life. Don't try to analyze it. Just be.

Yep, enjoy it as much as possible and bring joy to those around you.  It's amazing what a smile or compliment can do for someone else.

Don't forget to enjoy the little things in life, too. The fluttering of a butterfly as it dances from flower to flower, the fresh smell of rain, the laughter of those you love, so many things!
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on. Robert Frost

Perhaps the butterfly is proof that you can go through a great deal of darkness yet become something beautiful.

:spooked:   I have tried for maybe a couple of hours to write something intelligent in response.  Right now I think I would like to watch a rerun of Men in Black.

Since I retired, I have WAY too much time to think.

Well it's time to find a expensive hobby.     There is nothing like spending money on big boy toys.     You got one big boy toy a boat.    :fish: :swim: :sail: :titanic: What is next? :chop: :choo:  :choo:  :choo:

Thanks. But I have hobbies and I stay busy. Now I don't have to think 24/7 about my job, so I think about other things.

Maybe you spent too much time in that little cube working.      And you didn't see how Trump and the Republican are screwing the middle class Americans.  The Republican Party is sure working on the retires and the future retires.

Well the tail get hinges on my 2003 pickup truck finally took a shit. Been driving it around with the tailgate open for a couple of weeks. Went to GM and they wanted 110 bucks for a replacement set. . . I was stewing until Monday of this week when I found a set on Amazon, new, OEM per the description, for 16 bucks. I ordered them.

Just spent an hour taking off the old ones and putting on the new from Amazon. They fit perfectly and are better made than the ones I took off the truck. It closed like new on the first try. I reused the factory shims and bolts. Hardest part was getting the old bolts broke loose, but WD40 did the trick for that.

Pretty damned happy with this purchase right now. . .

Yep, those old rusty Chevys.  My grandson's belt tensioner went bad on his Ford.  He went a big Ford dealership.  They wanted $800 for the job of replacing it.     He went to my local car repair place and they replaced it for $187.  All of the big dealer will rip you off.

Happy Constitution Day...because it matters!

Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Not sure if I shared on here or not, but I am a very proud father.  My middle child, (out of five) she recently graduated from The Travel Academy in Minnesota.  She has accepted a job with Norwegian Cruise Lines.  At the end of this month, she goes to Maryland for 10 days of training, then she will go to Hawaii for 6 months, working for Norwegian.  But, as of today, she had the opportunity to go to Iceland.  She left yesterday and is there now. She will be there for 10 days.   She is a great kid, who a year ago didn't have a clue to what she wanted to do with her life.  My heart hurts that I will not be seeing much of her,  but I am so happy and proud that she took the initiative to do something.

I have a son, in Australia and another son in New Zealand.  They too, had the courage to chase their dreams.

I still have two at home, (Son and a Daughter - Twins).....I probably will be locking them up in the attic.  My wife isn't going to let them go! LOL!

I told my wife, if anything, we have raised them into believing they can indeed, chase dreams.  It seems like so many kids are graduating High School, getting married, having kids and then divorcing.

This is a big world, and there is so much to see!

Not sure why, but I felt like sharing.  I don't like patting myself on the back, but I am!  I love my family.  Each and everyone of them are good.  They are hard working, honest and kind.  I am truly blessed.  :smitten:

Around the world or the nation, it won't matter either way. Still a chore to get to them.
