I hate having Derby and Preakness winners, like we've had so many times in the past (7 times since 2002), only to be disappointed by some other horse beating them at Belmont.  I would like to see another triple crown winner in my lifetime since I was only a child when the last one happened.
I don't know if he won by 5 lengths but in March when he won in Arkansas in the mud and rain it was 6 lengths. I was in 8th. grade when Affirmed won. The only problem is horses who haven't raced in the Derby can run the other 2 legs of the race and nothing can be done about it. It is not really fair but that is racing!

There have been other owners who felt the same as Chrome's but they weren't as vocal about it. Owners and trainers tend to keep those things to themselves. In racing, it is kind of a taboo to talk about those things or even talk about horses and their faults. You will never hear a jockey doing that.

The Waco Police Department has said that some of the gang members, who have vacated the area where the shootings occurred, may be regrouping in other areas in and around Waco, and that more violence could erupt.

The Indy 500 this coming Memorial Day weekend, is looking to be a demolition derby if the pre-race activities are any indication.

Yet another driver goes airborne this afternoon, only this time the driver is in hospital undergoing surgery for his injuries!  :spooked:

James Hinchcliffe is in stable condition and undergoing surgery following a serious crash at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Canadian driver crashed hard into the outside wall in Turn 3 during Monday's practice. As his car slid down the track, it began to flip over on to its right side, but never rolled completely over.

Hinchcliffe was placed on a backboard and was said to be alert as medics took him to IU Health Methodist Hospital. IMS tweeted later he was undergoing surgery for an injury to his upper thigh Monday afternoon.. .
