That and it was headed in the direction of Ohio, northern Ohio and that's the exact opposite of Indy.

Wouldn't that have been mighty early for one to be headed back though?

Who says s/he was headed back? It easily could have been a "joy flight" that took them out one way and back from another. Especially in that type of aircraft, which at certain speeds make maneuvers that will cover a third of some states, and the entirety of others. . .

As a matter of fact, those aircraft could also have been active military flights that either were using Grissom AFB as a stopping point, or be those actually stationed out of that location today, TAD.

Last I knew AFB Grissom was hosting the 434th, which carries the Air Refueling / Mission Support designate currently.

Not sure where you are but the one that went over here just before I posted was not only noisy it was moving at a rather fast speed.

I wondered about that.....Dayton (Wright Patterson) is like a 10 minute dash for a Blue Angel, which is conducting a show there at the end of the month.

California Chrome's owner was pissed!

His point is valid, but he chose the wrong venue in my opinion.

He should have let the day pass, as well as his anger and frustration, before running that flag up the pole. . .

His point is valid but unless they change the rules it will not happen. All Thoroughbred owners know that is the gamble they take. Many will skip the Derby and or the Preakness to aim for the Belmont especially if they can upset the game. My personal opinion is Chrome looked flat and a lot of 3 years are not strong enough or have the stamina to run 1.5 miles to win. It is asking a 6 year old to run. I personally think they shouldn't run until they are 4-5 when they are more mature and developed. Let's look at Secretariat, he didn't win a couple of races but won a stakes race to be entered into the Derby and the rest is history. There will never ever be another Secretariat, horses will be compared to him and all have but never another. I would have to say the 1973 race and the Affirmed/ Alydar duel were the greatest races in horse racing.
