Here's an example of the 'friendly' kind from Hank's post.  This is a king snake.  He just likes to make you think he's a coral snake.  Note the differences in the patterns between the two and how they fit the rhyme that HH posted.

Yeah, but yellow touches black on the coral snake as well.

I have heard it said, that "Red touch yellow kills a fellow.  Yellow Red touch black, a friend of Jack."

FTFY.  ;D

Maybe a better poem is..........."see a snake on your path.............go the other way"

Okay, it don't rhyme but it makes better sense than the other one I posted...

That's generally a good idea.  One can't do that when the snake is in the house though.   Like this one was when I almost stepped on it.   :spooked:

Yesterday was Anne Frank's birthday and a Facebook friend posted a very somber and serious post about her.  It took every fiber of my being to resist posting that she was the European hide-and-go-seek champion for several years during the 40's.

It wasn't poisonous.  I just caught it and released it in the back yard.

I only know about black snakes, the rest I have no use for. I almost was bit by a copperhead and a water moccasin growing up so I have a real intense fear and phobia of snakes. A friend of mine has had 8 copperheads killed on her property. I told her I will come visit when you can assure me of no snakes!! Lol

I read where some one put an Obama dummy and hung it off a bridge or something like that. Lol

I see a snake. . . It's dead. End of story.

I am not going to bother with wondering whether it is venomous or not. I say kill em all and let (insert your deity here) sort em out.

I am the same way, Palehorse. I say the only good snake is a dead snake but I say that about spiders, mice, rats, bears, sharks, alligators, crocodiles and other dangerous animals!
