Virginia State Sen. Creigh Deeds, D-Bath, is in critical condition after being assaulted in his home and his son is reportedly dead from a gunshot wound.

Sounds like the son was shot while stabbing Deeds.

Well, guess I have to suck it up and tell Ex, PH, and whoever else those new CFL bulbs have improved greatly and are much safer and give off more light than the first ones out did.  I signed up for an energy audit at a festival I went to last summer and they finally got out here to do it.  One of the things they do is try to replace 14 of your old bulbs with the new ones and it did make a difference in the lighting.  I guess the only fixtures you can't use them in now are the recessed ones and we no longer have those with the exception of the exhaust fan in the bathroom.  He also said Home Depot, Lowe's and Menard's carry these bulbs which is a good thing.  I don't really expect much of a savings from this but we will be able to see better at night now 'cause these bulbs are much brighter.......

I guess if you feel you must.  The bad ones are still out there though unfortunately it's just that those stores I mentioned have quit carrying them according to the guy that did the energy audit.  That was a scary experience with that bulb that time though, very scary, and it was installed in the type of lamp they were meant for.

I am thinking about getting a tablet or new Kindle Fire HD. Anyone have any suggestions? My sister-in-law loves her Kindle Fire. I would be using it for entertainment and web surfing, still have a laptop for working.
