We just spent a very enjoyable weekend in Chattanooga visiting our son. Went to see Enders Game, rode a train, ate out and enjoyed the company.

  Killer cop David Bisard was convicted on all nine counts in the killing of the motorcyclist.   I wonder who paid for his defense and how much time will he get.  We will see how Indianapolis cops are treated when they kill someone drunk.

My hope is that the judge will give him the maximum sentence for each count; especially the most egregious among them, the charge of Operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .15 or higher causing death, a class B felony.

My guess is that even if it does happen, he will spend about 4-6 years in prison while his appeals work their way through the court; at which point some of the charges will be reduced, or vacated altogether, and he will be sentenced to time served for whatever remains.

There was a time when an officer of the court that was found guilty of committing a crime was made an example of, and sentenced to the maximum punishment almost automatically.

We are hoping to go to Texas in April for a week or so. They just moved there last summer when he changed jobs.
