Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

And one more video from today.  I'm a sucker for a good performance regardless of political persuasion.  If anyone saw the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir's rendition of the Battle Hymn of the Republic today, you know what  a great job they did.  What an honor it must have been for the soloist to sing in such a ceremony, and what an honor it must have been to be able to participate as a group.

For the ones who didn't see it, here it is.

Hatred really needs to stop.  Although this is 4 years old now, it's a video of a letter that Jenna and Barbara Bush wrote to Sasha and Malia Obama four years ago when they were about to move into the White House.  It's spoken in their own words.  I loathed Bush's policies, but I can certainly appreciate this letter by his daughters to the Obama children.

I'm reading today where Beyonce Knowles lip-synched hers.

I wondered about that when halfway through the anthem, she reached up and pulled that little earphone out of her left ear.

I saw that and that really sucks!  She is talented enough to NOT do that....she is a beautiful singer....and she really went down a notch of two for me.

No lip syncing there.  If that lady in the choir can do a solo like the one she did, then Beyonce should have certainly been able to do hers.

I agree!  WTF was she thinking anyway?

She was probably worried about fuckin' it up in front of all of those important people.  ;D

But like I said, if that lady in the choir could do it, there's no reason Beyonce couldn't have either.
