I enjoy his music but I don't think much of him as a person. Years ago he waas in Indy and he was at one of the hospitals because he had become ill. I happened to be there with my grandson picking up some medicine for him and Mr. Travis came into the pharmacy. A young boy, looked to about 10, walked up to him and asked for an autograph. He was downright mean to that little kid. A woman who was with Mr. Travis hustled him out of there right quick, maybe she was his manager. I wouldn't have thought much about it if he had just told the kid no, he didn't give autographs or he was sick but he really was mean.

Anne, one thing I absolutely can't stand is stars who are rude or mean to their fans, especially when those fans are little children.

Makes you wonder WHAT is going on with a person, after they have has sold over 25 million records, and has earned 22 number one hits, 6 number one albums, 6 Grammy awards, 6 CMA awards, 9 ACM awards, 10 AMA awards, 7 Dove awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame......then the best thing they got left is to get naked and drunk, buy some cigarettes and threaten some cops.

  It is amazing how many people who reach success and fame can not handle it.  It is really sad.     Alcohol, drugs and women.     Not always in that order.

From what a friend told me, he was an asshole before he became famous.

Then he became a rich asshole.

"On February 6, 2012 Travis was arrested for public intoxication while sitting in his car at a Baptist church in Sanger, Texas. He paid a fine and was placed on a 90-day probation. The 90-day probation period expires September 23, 2012.[16]"

And then this from yesterday: 

"On August 7, 2012, police in Grayson County, Texas responded to a call that a man was lying in the road. Police reported that they arrived to find Travis naked and smelling of alcohol.[16] Police say that Travis crashed his car in a construction zone, and that when they attempted to apprehend him, Travis threatened the lives of the officers. Travis was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated and retaliation against law enforcement officials. He posted bail in the amount of $21,500.[17] Because this incident happened in a different county, his probation was not considered violated."

Sounds like he caught a major break on the probation violation issue.  I don't think he would have been so lucky had that happened here in Florida.

He'd be facing a stretch in the sin bin in Indiana too.
