Right here is where the law enforcement is over reaching and a pain in the ass.  When you give some people, The God Complex, this power to screw around with people, it bring out the worse in them.

How many complaints is it going to take to change the system.

On the surface I'd be inclined to agree with you on this, however while I agree the security measures are somewhat draconian for frequent fliers, in the words of Spock; the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.

We need a better way, no doubt about it. But until we get it we are stuck with what has been preventing commercial aircraft from being flown into buildings since 2001.

Yes indeed! That is at the top of my favorite Spock-isms.

Well at least they brought him back for the subsequent films via the Genesis device.  ;D

We need a better way, no doubt about it. But until we get it we are stuck with what has been preventing commercial aircraft from being flown into buildings since 2001.

There will never be another plane flown in to another building again.  Why, because the passengers will never die without putting up a fight.  The people sat there like sheep and let it happen.  Why, because it had never happened before.  As expected they sat there watching all of the action thinking that they would be taken safely to some other airport and then let off.

Years before 9/11 the safety board of the FAA wanted armored cockpit doors and to keep them lock during the flight.  Those planes were taken over with simple little box knifes which let the planes to be taken over by crazy Muslims killers through those cheap weak doors protecting the flight crew.  One more thing we had never meet a group of crazies who would commit suicide to kill so many people.  Since that mass murder we have come to meet an enemy who will do anything to reach their religious goal of turning the world in to a Muslim world.

We have to be very vigilant of explosives, because a very small amount will do great damage.  But to feel up and grope and treat people like cattle at a slaughter ramp at a meat butchering plant is uncalled for.  But if you protest in any way the damn airport cops find other way to punishing you, because the know they have the power of the government behind them.

When you boil down every thing that happened on 9/11 it was all about money.  Not putting putting armored doors of the planes.  Plus the planes were taken over because the passengers were uneducated to the crazies and nobody will be taken by box knifes or a single pistol.  NEVER!

Star Trek is/was one of my favorite tv series/movies.  Did you like the last one?  I really liked it, I thought it gave a good background look at the characters, with a few surprises.  I have a poster titled "All I need to know bout life I learned from Star Trek".  My kids like to give me a hard time over it.   :)

I was a Star Trek fan too. I think one of my favorite in the series was The Trouble With Trittles or something like that.  Didn't have a true favorite of the movies, I liked them all.

This is an actual prototype that Toshiba unveiled in Japan back in 2006. The idea was to create a "wearable home theater" that gave you a 360-degree panoramic view of whatever video you're watching or game you're playing.

But here's the thing -- the device, along with weighing a reported 6 pounds, appears to be incredibly awkward, not to mention the fact that it looks like someone mounted a full-sized CRT television on the user's head. The picture quality and panoramic experience would have to be pretty amazing to get people to wear something this huge and ugly on their head. It's no wonder Toshiba never released the so-called "bubble helmet" prototype to the general audience. It's pretty much useless unless you want to look like Dark Helmet from "Space Balls."
