Here are three words you probably never expected to hear alongside the name televangelist Pat Robertson:

What Troll is referring to is the fact that sleeplessness, and sleep loss, are a key ingredient for depression. As sleep loss accumulates it makes the likelihood of depression increase exponentially.
Never thought about it in terms of causing depression but in some cases I know it is a result of depression causing the lack of sleep.  I think with me though it's just part of my chemical makeup since several others in the family are the same way.  My internal clock has always been geared toward being a night person and I can do my best sleepin' in the daytime.  Heck, when I was working 3rd shift I'd get to bed around 9:00am or 10:00am, be up at 2:30pm when the kids got home from school, clean house, fix supper, do dishes, grab an hour nap, sometimes, and be good to go that night.  If I had one night off I'd stay up all day so I could sleep that night and get hubby off to work and the kids off to school be up most of the day, grab a short nap and be good to go that night.  Don't think I could do that now though...

Ya, more dangerous side effects from what I'm seeing.  I think I'll stick to my milk, melatonin, and/or music.  As far as depression I don't have time for that.  Ya miss out on the good things in life if yer dwellin' on the bad stuff.

That alright hard head.  You're the doctor, you know it all.  It's your body and brain, but let me inform you that stupid statement that "I don't have time for that" is so so wrong.  A hard head stand like that will not take care of a chemical imbalance in your brain.

I offered you some good advice, won't make that mistake again.  Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.    :jc:

A chemical imbalance is an entirely different thing than whats going on with me.  It would be so out of character for me to be down and not active for any length of time my kids would drag me off to the doctors office pronto.  It's not that I don't appreciate your advice it's just that in my case it doesn't apply, at least at this point.  Heck, if I get more than 6 or 7hrs sleep in a stretch I'm good to go for almost 24hrs, well I used to be, maybe 16 to 18 now.  I just hate gettin' up early, always have hated it.

Hay Horse, in reading a "book" the other day I read that the best time to fine a good job is when you are employed.

Since you were laided off from a good job and now you're struck working nights at a company what doesn't have air conditioning and summer is coming on.  Have you tried finding a job in a field you like.

My daughter in law just went out this last week and applied for job at three places and she has found out that all three places want to hire her.  Right now she trying to decide which place has the most to offer.

Who knows, this might be the time to make an move.  Just a thought

Saying someone else's marriage offends you because of your religious beliefs, is like being pissed at someone eating a donut because you are on a diet!

If you view someone else's life as sinful because of your religious beliefs, aren't you being judgmental? Someone else's "sins" are none of your business. You will not be held accountable for them so why do you care?

Ya know, put that way it makes sense.  Heck, in some religions listening to music or watching TV is a sin and they would want that stopped too.
