  I believe that most opinions are based of selfserving greed.  Lying, cheating, stretching the truth and anything go when it come to getting what you want.  No holds barred.

  I sorta like what President Franklin D. Roosevelt said,

  For me I don't worry if it is going to cost me a few dollars in taxes, if it good for the country.

It is money paid into the government by us that we get at a certain age.  If they had not started dipping into it for other "pet projects" and giving it to people who never paid into the system, illegals, it wouldn't be in as bad shape as it is now.  Both parties are equally as guilty on that "pet project" thing so don't jump on that one with both feet 'cause you'd be wastin' your time. 
Of course I see where you're coming from on the government funding deal since the money we are drawing on now was actually paid in by others before us and it can be looked at or interpreted as not actually our money for arguments sake.

There is a difference between misunderstanding and understanding something different.

You totally lost me on this one. How can it be different. If you understand something different and it's incorrect, then you've misunderstood.

It is also a fact that facts can be altered or skewed to be in favor of one side or another and presented in such a manner as to be legit so a person has to decide which facts they prefer to go with even if it's a combination of the two presented.

The onus is on us as individuals to seek out the facts and not settle for "skewed" information. We should question references, sources, material, everything until we're fairly certain that we have the correct information. To form an opinion without accurately verifying the information could make someone's opinion flawed and therefore, invalid.
