Is every opinion valid?  If not, how should we determine which opinions are?

That is a loaded question ya know.  Everyone's opinions are based on the facts as they see them not the facts as you/others see them so, yes, every opinion is valid to someone.

Facts are not open to interpretation, as much as you'd like to pretend otherwise.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Oh really, that's interesting.  And here all this time I thought facts could be distorted.  Amazing huh?

I would say the validity of ones opinion correlates directly with the level of factual and accredited information it incorporates. It is what it eats, and if it eats shit it is shit!

So, following that logic it would mean that not all are entitled to their own opinions unless it agrees with theirs and their facts which may be distorted even though they don't recognize it.

No that is not what it means. It means everyone has the right to an opinion, but before you go spreading it around like horse manure you had better have your facts straight and ensure they are correct. Moreover, it is incumbent upon those who know a stated opinion to be incorrect to point it out, and to provide accredited and empirical evidence to support said rebuttal; therein providing proof of the falsehood of the former.

Henry, you opinion can't always be right. You may think it's right for you and you might even stick by it even when the facts are in, but that doesn't make it right.

me - it isn't a loaded question. It's pretty straight forward.

Also if someone bases an opinion on something that they misunderstood, then their opinion is not valid.

There is a difference between misunderstanding and understanding something different.  It is also a fact that facts can be altered or skewed to be in favor of one side or another and presented in such a manner as to be legit so a person has to decide which facts they prefer to go with even if it's a combination of the two presented.

I believe that most opinions are based of selfserving greed.  Lying, cheating, stretching the truth and anything go when it come to getting what you want.  No holds barred.

I sorta like what President Franklin D. Roosevelt said,

The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much, as it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.

For me I don't worry if it is going to cost me a few dollars in taxes, if it good for the country.
it's OK.
