NAACP passes resolution blasting Tea Party 'racism'

I've said it before; sitting idly by and doing nothing or saying nothing to oppose those actions and individuals that nurture racial separation within the Tea Party, is the same thing as a nod and a wink, and infers agreement. . .

QuoteWashington (CNN) -- The NAACP has passed a resolution that condemns what it feels is rampant racism in the Tea Party movement. Members passed the measure on Tuesday at the organization's 101st annual convention in Kansas City, Missouri.
Tea Party activists have swiftly denounced the action as unfounded and unfair.
The resolution pits the nation's oldest civil rights organization, with its storied history of wins on behalf of racial justice, against a grassroots conservative movement that has won some recent political races and is flexing its muscle in Republican circles.
"We take no issue with the Tea Party. We believe in freedom of assembly and people raising their voices in a democracy," Ben Jealous, president and CEO of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, said in a statement.

"We take issue with the Tea Party's continued tolerance for bigotry and bigoted statements. The time has come for them to accept the responsibility that comes with influence and make clear there is no space for racism and anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry in their movement," Jealous said. . .

And now the NAACP has decided it has gone on long enough, and those in control of the Tea Party must now be held accountable!

There is one problem here...The teaparty is not racist.   Have you not noticed a pattern here with this racist crap?  No, I guess you probably haven't because you're too busy thinking what you're told to think.

Anyone, no matter who, that disagrees with the current administration and its policies is racist and a hate monger.  If they're black they're Uncle Tom's and a disgrace to their race.  Don't you see a pattern here?  Don't you think there is something wrong with that theory?

Of course you are going to say that! (As you slurp your tea). . .

The Tea Party's failure to make public statements in opposition to those candidates and individuals at their lil parties, that clearly are spewing racist and bigotry filled information and messages, indicates agreement with said actions and messages.

Dress it up anyway you like, and start spreading the smoke, but it is what it is!

I sure can't see any raceism in the Teaparty.  So the have signs with Obama made to look Hitler.  Obama picture made up like the murdering criminal in Batman.  Obama with his picture with the hammer and sickle and Communist on it.  Picture of with Nazi symbols.  A few people shouting kill him.  No, No they are a religious loving group of Jesus and God loving people.  Hell, this happen in every election we have here in America.  Gosh, their good people.  :rotfl:  :rotfl:  :rotfl:

Was it racist when the same pictures were held up with Mr. Bush's face on them, or was it just another case of it's ok for us to do but not for you to do. I don't agree with either one, but I do get tired of the double standard.

There is a distinct difference in promoting messages of hate and racial bigotry as an individual, and promoting them as a member of a political party, or as an organization that represents a political party of government. One is covered by free speech, the other can be considered treasonous.

There are data to support that position as well.

Here's an example:

It's that same ole' shit that the old southern folk bantered about when the said they weren't the clan.  All puffed up in their politeness and charm, they said, "We're just good folk concerned about state's rights.  It has nothing to do with slavery and racism."

That kind of crap was a poor attempt to perfume the pig then, and it's just as poor of an attempt to perfume the pig today insofar as the Tea Party is concerned.

In this case, a picture like you described would have to exist and even then, I'm not sure it's a double-standard.

Show us your picture of a black person w/a sign of Bush depicted as Hitler and we'll discuss the rest.

You show me a pic of an "actual" teaparty person with signs like you're talking about.

You know every time there was a protest against Bush there were all kinds of people carrying those signs of both races so don't even try that.

It was the war "they" were protesting against initially, then the Chimp lied. . .  And I do not recall any formal Democratic Party endorsement of any of those protests either. . .
