Typical. He isn't even in office yet. President Obama still has time to mess things up more than he already has, the country gave him and the dems a chance and evidently didn't like it. And,fyi, the Dow is up 200 over yesterday.

How exactly has President Obama messed things up in this country?

She doesn't know...she's just repeating what she's read on Facebook.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

As you well know, most of what's been on FB, at least as far as mine is concerned, have been lies.

The problem going forward for Trump supporters, including those, like Anne, Hank, and 'me', is that Trump simply won't be able to deliver on the majority of promises that his voters will expect of him. What happens when Congress won't fund a border wall with Mexico, and Mexico really won't pay for it? What happens when we ban Muslims from entering the country and then the Muslim countries tell us to go fuck ourselves when we need their help fighting terrorism and ISIS? What happens when he really can't bring back factory jobs and his supporters figure out they've been duped? What happens when coal isn't king again due to the fracking boom despite what Trump promised miners in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia? He can certainly sway the SCOTUS, but most of his other promises aren't really doable, and his followers are bound to be disappointed when they finally figure it out.

Yes indeed and I've been saying it for a long time. Trump will be unable to do most of what he said he would do. So. . . now what?

I understand why so many Americans voted for him. They saw voting for him as the official "FU" vote to the political establishment of this nation. A well deserved FU to them, and one I myself have been saying was required. The big problem? We screwed the pooch.

Sure, Republicans and Democrats alike are reassessing things today, trying to understand just why it is that America voted a multi-billionaire into the highest elected office of this nation. But they're incapable of self reflection that is truthful; and lack a soul to look into.

What this nation should have done is demanded term limits within all elected positions; top to bottom.

Demanded the end of life long healthcare and retirement for these positions.

Demanded accountability from every single elected official.

Demanded their voice back and the elimination of unlimited campaign contributions by soul-less faceless corporations.

Instead what Americans did was elect a multi-billionaire based upon a house of cards promises upon which he will be unable to deliver. Unable. Unless it serves the best interests of the almighty corporations in this country. Almighty corporations that are now in the pockets of the controlling party of both houses of congress.

Instead, Americans kicked the can. And it is Americans that will be run over roughshod by the very people that they put into power.  :-[

A lame duck President with 2 months left in office really can't mess up a lot of things.

I disagree with this guy most of the time. But today his post on social media contains something I do agree with:

So now we have the House, and now we have the Senate, and now we have the White House -- and now we have no excuses. There aren't any excuses anymore. The Republican Party has been given the full reins of this government in this country, and there is a mandate behind it.

Damn Skippy!

I fear what they'll do with that power PH.  Last time they held it, we ended up with a major economic meltdown.

I am sick of the ugliness and violence the Hillary people are showing. What the hell is wrong with people? Conservatives didn't tear shit up and attack people when Obama won why are they doing this because their nominee lost? smh

Refer to my post on Hank's thread.  The root of it is the ugliness that Trump employed during this campaign.

I'm not condoning it, obviously.  I'm just pointing out a contributing factor.

The only ugliness and violence during the Trump campaign was the people who were protesting him and attacking his supporters.

You mean his supporters were attacking themselves?

Stop being obtuse. Please.  :roll eyes:

These protests are quickly becoming nationwide. Chicago, New York, Seattle, several cities in Cali. . .

Trump incited this kind of reaction with his bullying and incendiary rhetoric. I saw tons of media coverage from the POTUS and Ms Clinton that ran all day long, asking for healing, coming together, and support for the incoming administration.

That falls on ears deafened by the harshness of Trump's campaign and actions.
