Several of those involve the use of tax dollars to benefit only people with children.  How is this not welfare?

Plus many of them had a two year time limit, and if it weren't for the Obama administration, the cuts would have expired.

It sure is welfare for people who's Dick works over time.  We only had one child and I still paying taxes to pay for other people's kids and there is no end of it until we die.

All are tax cuts for people who should pay more taxes.     It sure doesn't cover the rest of us 60 percenters.   But the damn Republicans still won't let the kids with college loans refinance their loans to get a lower rate.     All of these tax cuts for people who can afford it, but cut food stamps.

why is it hard for you to understand that THOSE who pay taxes with kids, get a break.  They STILL pay taxes, just a little less.  It is not welfare in any way, shape or form.

Those who don't pay taxes STILL get breaks plus some....

We all pay property taxes for schools, even people who rent, it's called providing free education for children. The tax breaks for people who have children run out when the kids grow up. It is not an unreasonable situation. We don't have children, grandchildren or great grandchildren in the Indiana school system, but we still pay taxes, including property, and state and federal income taxes. It is just being part of a community IMO.

You Republicans don't want to pay taxes, especially the rich.      Let people stand alone, let people do it themselves.     Let the market handle the amount of pay and let them pay men more and women less.  Let private business build the bridges, build the roads, deliver the mail.  Take off all regulations.  What do you mean community, you are an island by yourself.   :flash: :shrk: :titanic:

We've covered this before but just to refresh your memory...

Infrastructure and its associated costs are based on population.  All else being equal, a family of four requires roughly twice the infrastructure of a couple with no children but pays significantly less taxes due to various deductions.  The childless couple is therefore subsidizing the family with children.  It's pretty simple math...if you cost more and you pay less, someone else is paying part of your expense.  Now go look up the definition of welfare.

Schools are an even simpler example as they are primarily funded by property taxes which are based on assessed value, not number of occupants.  Couples with no dependents definitely pay for that resource which they never use.

I don't mind paying for these things, by the way, but am only trying to point out the hypocrisy involved.  Funny how it's, "just being part of a community," when you benefit but it's lazy, ne'er do wells taking advantage of the system when it's someone else.

It is only welfare if you're not paying into it at all and a working family with kids is at least paying into it unlike someone on actual welfare who is paying nothing.  I'm not talking about the truly needy here I'm talking about the ones who make a career out of it.

But it is NOT a hand out. These people STILL pay a large sum in taxes.  Welfare is given to those who pay no federal taxes.  Nearly 50% pay NO federal taxes.

The republicans eased the burden on those with families, who work and pay taxes.

Lots of middle class people who pay federal taxes initially get back more with all of their various deductions and whatnot than they pay in, ergo, they are not actually paying taxes at all; now are they?

I personally don't care if someone pays into the system or not.  If you use more than you pay in, someone else is paying the difference for you.  Just because you aren't getting a check doesn't mean it isn't welfare.  I never agreed to subsidize anyone's breeding.

Eventually, that couple with children will be 'childless" too and pay more in taxes,. Generally, I think, people earn more money as they get older and will pay more in taxes than they would have when they were younger even without the child credit. If the children go to school and go on to be productive adults they in turn pay taxes. Don't you think low income people take advantage of the child credit? Infrastructure is something else to a point. There would be the same road down through my neighborhood if there were one person or six in every house, water and electricity a different story. The choice to have children either by birth or adoption is a personal one and as long as you contribute to and participate in raising them I don't have a problem with anyone.

Eventually, people receiving WIC will be childless and ineligible for those benefits as well; doesn't mean they didn't receive welfare.

Troll asked me to name ONE LAW that the republicans ever passed that helped the middle class and the poor.  I DID.

When exactly did I mention WIC or welfare in this line discussion?
