Critical thinking seems to me a way to teach people to NOT think for themselves but rather to LET themselves be manipulated into thinking the way certain people want you to think.  Goood little sheeple.

Really?

She really has no clue whatsoever!

I realize you two are posting this for the cheap seats, but seriously, this comes as no surprise to no one quoted within, or making this post now does it. . .

Seems to me as if it's ya'll that doesn't have a clue, unfortunately it may be a little late by the time you finally get it.

You wouldn't have the slightest idea what critical thinking is, Clara Bell.   :jester: :haha: :haha: :haha:

I don't understand this, I thought that critical thinking had to do with being analytical.  In no way does actually analyzing the situation make someone a sheeple.  Critical thinking should allow us to make an informed opinion.   Definition: the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment.
Looks like I've come full circle.

I agree Pari, but on here, if you don't think like the others do, you lack critical thinking....

You have your cause and effect backwards.  It's more likely that your lack of critical thinking skills is the reason you don't think like the others; not the other way around.

Yet, your compadre, 'me', urged us on the previous page of this very thread to "Quit with the critical thinking"

It seems to me that "critical thinking" lacks common sense and logic.

You got to be kidding us, Clara.  :haha:  Just Goggle the meaning of Critical Thinking.   You're so so wrong in your thinking as usual.  :haha:

Critical thinking employs not only logic but broad intellectual criteria such as clarity, credibility, accuracy, precision, relevance, depth, breadth, significance, and fairness.

In sum:

"A persistent effort to examine any belief or supposed form of knowledge in the light of the evidence that supports or refutes it and the further conclusions to which it tends."

Critical thinking is NOT exclusionary of empirical evidence that supports or refutes a conclusion / knowledge that is opposite a preconceived conclusion, or of that which refutes precursory knowledge.

Thus, we see the criteria upon which some here have been adjudicated as having absolutely no possession of critical thinking skills what-so-ever.

*raising her hand*  That would be me, I rarely employ critical thinking.  I don't have time for that much brain work.

In some cases that may work but there is no simple black and white there is gray and critical thinking seems to forget that and doesn't allow for variables which may come into play.
