Gee, do you think it may have also had something to do with the way he did it too?

http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/bowe-bergdahl-released/top-lawmakers-say-white-house-broke-law-bergdahl-deal-n121721

And here we see that typical tactic being dragged out once again; and we all know the root cause for all of this don't we?

Again, why would anyone with gray matter between their ears, give even a modicum of credibility to the emotional hyperbole you are linking to here?

Why is that I am reasonably certain that had this been something undertaken by a republican president, these very same sources would be drooling all over themselves to wave the flag and petitioning the Catholic Church to have that republican president submitted for sainthood?

Just why is it, really, that despite the fact the sitting POTUS is reaching the mid-point of his final term, these same entities are caterwauling over each and every single thing he or his administration does, and continue to say "NO" to everything; despite the fact they are throwing thousands of American under the bus by those very same actions?

You know the answer to these questions. You know the root cause. Same as that of the soon to be former owner of the LA Clippers, whether you admit it or not. You cannot hide beneath those sheets.

And how ironic is it really, when one considers the maelstrom of the last several months over the death of a US Ambassador, that has been perpetuated by these very same individuals / entities, and how quickly that moved from front and center to the back of the last page status when a LIVING American Citizen, who had the courage and morality to put on the uniform of the US Military and put his life squarely on the line, is freed from 5 years of captivity? (And that is exactly what he did until a United States Court Martial says otherwise.)

As a parent with a long-term, career-path, actively serving member of the military son, I would place my complete trust within that son; first and foremost. I would trust that he exercised the good judgement that his life, education, and training have served to provide him with. And if he had indeed done the things they are saying this man did, (and I in no way or at any level believe that), I would trust that something served to obscure that good judgement; physical, mental, chemical, or a combination of any or all of these.

I would want, and expect, this country to do everything within its power to recover my son by any means necessary; dead or absolutely preferably alive.

And I would expect his comrades in arms to reserve judgement of his action(s) until such time as those responsible for ensuring compliance with per the UCMJ are able to complete their investigation and execute the prescribed course of action. And I would expect the very same from every member of their family; for as a veteran and military family member I would surely do the same for their family member if the situation were reversed. (And as I am absolutely doing in the very case in question).

And to be quite honest about things, if that son had been held as a prisoner of war for 5 years with little to no progress being made, I'd be hard pressed to say what I would have done. But you can rest assured that using my contacts and personal capital to put together a mercenary team to attempt a private rescue mission would have been among those considerations; regardless of the scuttle-butt being bandied about. (The sad reality is though, that would never have happened because if I liquidated everything I own, it wouldn't scratch the surface of the funding an initiative like that would require. But you can bet your ass I'd have wanted to).

I respect your opinion.  You have a son that this could have easily happened too, but also, your son could have also been the one killed in the line of duty LOOKING for this guy.

I have learned (recently, I might add) that jumping to conclusions, and not knowing the entire story first hand, and chastising a person especially military, who deserves all benefits of doubt.

BUT, more and more facts are surfacing about this kid that is not favoring to him.

As a father, I understand your take on it, but you should also be able to feel the pain a father may have IF, these stories are true about this guy being a deserter, Hating America, and aiding the enemy....

I keep reminding myself to WAIT until this shakes out.  I have a prediction, this kid will be released by the military and an investigation, then charges filed.  We will find out one day, WHAT really happened.

I would be real curious to know what his comrades in arms that were with him have said about all this. I agree that there may be a lot of jumping to conclusions but sure hope it all works out.

Then she comes back out and she and the kids get in the car and start laughing about the things this is gonna stir up when they put it on Youtube.  Do you really think this isn't staged?  Get a life Ex.

Oh, and unlike you, I have a life!
Now I know you're not accusing me of being like that 'cause if you are you're totally not right in the head.  "If" that really happened and it isn't a disgruntled former employee just trying to cause trouble that's terrible and that supervisor should be fired and reprimanded but if it's a disgruntled former employee trying to cause trouble and get his job back then shame on him.  I still believe the other one was staged.  If you'll look closely the woman on the phone was mixed and so was the little girl.

My personal issues with this media blitzkrieg over this:

1. If you are not a veteran or actively serving member of the military you should just shut the hell up about it. You have no dog in this hunt.

2. If you are a veteran or actively serving member of the military, you are entitled to say what you will; however, you should exercise good judgement and realize that 99.9% of the crap within the media is just that. Crap. Moreover, put yourself in this individuals place and then ask yourself, how would you want your situation tried; within the media or within a Court Martial?

3. NONE of the above personnel know the entire story here surrounding what may have transpired on the night of his disappearance and the ensuing 5 years. SOME may think they know bits and pieces of it, but do they really? Odds are they do not.

EVERYBODY needs to shut the hell up and wait until the facts are known, the investigation is complete, and a decision reached.

This country has a moral and sworn duty to recover those taken prisoner of war, the wounded, and the killed. End of story.

THAT is f'ing bullshit.  Don't tell me I DON'T have any rights to have a freakin opinion about anything.  Especially on a forum.....I pay taxes, and I CARE very much about this country.  I care very much about the men and women who serve this country.........anybody who says I need the shut the the hell up about something can go pound sand up the their ass.

The truth will come out sooner or later about this kid.  But until then, we can all speculate.  THAT is what we do on here.

I realize NOBODY knows the whole story yet, and the media is having its normal "Hayday" with this.  When members of his platoon accused him of deserting their remote outpost, it becomes a valid issue to discuss.

Isn't that what we do on here?

As usual Henry you don't know shit about this, nobody knows shit about this including his  fellow stool pigeons .       All the young man has to do is pull a Ronald Reagen  and say when questioned.  I don't remember, I don't  recall anything about that day.  I don't remember waking up that day.     Then let's see what the Army brass does.

But we all know that Fox News and Henry Hawk doesn't know shit about went on.  Now his family is getting death threats.  Give me a break assholes.

I know what I have heard.  I know this is a forum.  NOW, Troll, you act like you have some ethics on what the media says.....if this was Bush as the helm, you and other dems would be screaming about this.

Why?

Because this is a forum...and that is what people do on a forum.  Express their thoughts.

I don't know what news show it was on because I rarely watch any of them since most of them are biased but I did hear on one of them that the Taliban is saying they never kidnapped him. Now, whether that is true or not, I guess we will find out. I also heard and again, I find it skeptical that he was told by doctor's that he could call his parents and he had not. I would think that would have been one of the very first phone calls to make.

And as usual, you take the statement at face value, run off on an emotional tangent and into the deep weeds, without asking yourself the key question; Why?

1. This speculation is not healthy for anyone and amounts to nothing more than destructive and divisive behaviors and statements. Do we really need more of that?

2. And most importantly; Now the family of the former POW is being subjected to death threats. DEATH threats.

And this kind of speculation does nothing but feed the miscreants of society with a plethora of reasons to threaten the lives of his family.

How many more killings do we have to endure before we as a society understand the connection between emotional spitballing and the actions of that portion of our society that is maladjusted and on the brink of taking a header into chaos?

So yea, I said STFU and I meant it. And now you know exactly what I meant.
