After watching this afternoon's local newscast, featuring nothing but Indiana republican representatives spewing the party line, I am deeply disgusted and ashamed to be a resident of this state.

If conservative republican policies and "GOPD" had not thoroughly trashed the economy already, I would exercise my right to get the hell outta this state as fast as my truck would carry me. But alas, their crap has resulted in my being imprisoned here for who knows how long.

One thing I swear to each one of you reading this; When this shakes out and the economy returns to stability, or I through fate become independently wealthy, (whichever comes first), I WILL be gone. And I will never return.

Common ground seems to be what ever Obama wants, he refuses to budge an inch while expecting everyone else to cave.  All the conservatives, and some liberals, are asking for is a one year delay in the tax on individuals for the HCB like was given to big business, and concessions in spending on the ceiling limit being raised.  In a way I hope they cave so we can say "I told you so" but I really hate to see what's coming if they do.  Of course what's coming if they don't could be much worse since the administration is hurting the people just to get his way.  I know you don't see it like that but you obviously aren't really paying attention.

So, Imagine that the company you work for held a poll, and asked everyone if they thought it would be a good idea to put a soda machine in the break room. The poll came back, and the majority of your colleagues said "Yes", indicating that they would like a soda machine. Some said no, but the majority said yes. So, a week later, there's a soda machine.

Now imagine that Bill in accounting voted against the soda machine. He has a strong hatred for caffeinated soft drinks, thinks they are bad for you, whatever. He campaigns throughout the office to get the machine removed. Well, management decides "OK, we'll ask again" and again, the majority of people say "Yes, lets keep the soda machine."

Bill continues to campaign, and management continues to ask the employees, and every time, the answer is in favor of the soda machine. This happens, lets say... 35 times. Eventually, Bill says "OK, I'M NOT PROCESSING PAYROLL ANYMORE UNTIL THE SODA MACHINE IS REMOVED", so nobody will get paid unless management removes the machine.

What should we do???

Answer: Fire Bill and get someone who will do the fucking job.

Bonus: Bill tells everyone that he was willing to "negotiate", to come to a solution where everyone got their payroll checks, but only so long as that negotiation capitulated to his demand to remove the soda machine.
