If those employers were responsible corporate citizens, they would already be providing these benefits.  It's sad that the government has to step in and force them to do something they should be doing anyway.

You have health insurance with your job; don't you?  Why do you feel you deserve that and others don't?

That's a loaded question.  Let me ask you a question first, Why do you feel you should get paid more money than others?

I've never said that; I think it would solve a lot of social ills if everyone who was willing to work was paid a fair living wage.  Those people would all then be taxpayers instead of burdens on society.

The way the system works now, and what you seem to advocate, is that employers should be free to pay whatever they like and provide no benefits to their employees.  The rest of us then subsidize those employees so that the executives can become fabulously wealthy.  All they are really doing is taking money from you and I and giving it to people who are already rich.  How does that make sense?

I follow what you are saying.  But when government intervenes, and forces employers to dig into profits, it either causes inflation or forces them to let someone go.  Which create further strains for unemployment.  Not all employers are fabulously wealthy and this law is going to ruin many small business, which again, strains our economy.

Why not encourage small business to do so by increasing tax incentives?

They already have those tax incentives; greed prevents them from using them.  Sometimes, yes, the government needs to intervene because people are, by nature, going to do what is best for them regardless of whether or not it harms someone else.  If everyone was always fair to everyone else, government would be unnecessary.

Not all business owners are greedy.  Yes, many are, but making laws to force some who may be able to afford it, can and will harshly effect those who cannot afford it.

Let me take this whole point one step further.  This whole "Obamacare" law is to help the uninsured.  That ONLY represents about 15% of our citizens.  This new law is disrupting nearly ALL Americans.  Wouldn't it be much easier to help out those 15%, rather than enforcing a whole new system that is proving to have many flaws and going to be extremely costly?

...a whole new system that is proving to have many flaws and going to be extremely costly?

Now we're back to the original question...what are those specific flaws and where are the figures to substantiate "extremely costly"?

and I would respond, as I did earlier...it is going to cost people jobs and cost many hours of work and coverage of employ covered insurance is going up with less coverage.  That is already proving itself.

Remember, all of this to insure 15% of the population.  We should have redone medicare to help those folks.  NOT this.

It is not and you can't quantify any of your claims.  You neocons are great at telling us how bad it is but not so much on explaining why.

So there's some dumb, neocon bitch railing on Obama on a friend's Facebook page spewing on about socialism this, communism that, blah, blah, blah.  I like to look people up so that I can understand their backgrounds and perspectives and lo and behold...she lives in a trailer park.  Shocking, I know...

I personally didn't expect anymore than a few misguided right wing talking points. I wasn't disappointed.

I believe the bottom line is that like it or not, the ACA was signed into law. Get over it and put everyone back to work.

It is not hard, just read what is going on.

UPS to drop 15,000 spouses from insurance, cites Obamacare.

400 employees at the Community College of Allegheny County saw their hours reduced.

Hours for over 100 people in the Fort Wayne Community School District in Indiana have been reduced, including substitutes and support staff.

Orlando Health to cut record number of jobs to save money

Welch Allyn, a company that manufactures medical diagnostic equipment in central New York, laid off 275 employees this year, and planned on dropping roughly 10% of their workforce over the next three years.

A Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance office was closed, resulting in another 100 or so employees hitting the unemployment lines. The reason?  Complexities in federal regulations and mandates, implemented by Obamacare.

I backed up my claims with sources....something you appreciate, right?  Just because it was signed into law, does not mean it is a good thing.

No, I don't like it.

I love the fact we have people like Ted Cruz who DOES give a damn about right and wrong....this bill is wrong...at least serveral aspects of it is wrong....All most conservatives want is to make thing right.

I also keep reminding everyone...this whole law was supposed to fix the uninsured, which is only 15% of our population, yet this bill is going to effect EVERYONE.

Reading through the flotsam in this topic and the other one, I am now firmly convinced that the terminology being utilized is the new "code" for our racist, sheet wearing, conservative terrorist citizens.

"Obama" = ******

"Obamacare" = ******-pile.

You assholes have not only run the reputation of your party into the ground, but are now trying to drag the entire nation under the bus with you.  :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

It amazes me how one group of people (the democrats) cannot see the damage that is being done by their own actions, and furthermore find ways to demonize the only group (the republicans) who actually give a damn about this country.

The democrat party is so full of low-information voters, who are being fed by the government, who have become numb to reality.  That is exactly where the democrat leaders WANT them.  They mean nothing more than votes, but pretend to actually care about them.  They (the democrat leaders) are the biggest scam artists in our Nations history....

Being the eternal optimist, I have faith that the pendulum will eventually swing back to the right, and only then will this Nation begin to heal.

I am thankful, that we have Patriots such as Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio, along with a few others, who are fighting to do what is right for this Nation.  Makes me proud to be an American.
