Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

It is the President of the United States JOB to lead our country into prosperity...to "compromise" with the party ELECTED to the HOUSE across the aisle...to find common ground for the GOOD of all Americans.

That sword cuts both ways, and I find it ironic that despite 4 years of obstructionist conservative bull-shite, you do not see it.

As you've said here many times during the Bush-era, "the president can only sign into law what congress sends before him." And for the past 4 years all they have sent is the word "NO".  And they continue to.

The republican Congress is only standing on the principals that put them into office by their constituents.  CUT spending and NOT raising taxes.  They want to cut loop holes that allow the rich to not pay what they should.  But if the dems want to spend more and raise more taxes.......then the answer is going to be NO.

The compromise is going to be at the leadership of Obama.....if he wants to raise taxes he must figure out a way to lure some republicans that they must compromise principals that got them that job...and be able to assure them, that it is going to better our economy.  He has done nothing.

The Conference Board's confidence index climbed to 73.7, the highest since February 2008, from a revised 73.1 reading the prior month, figures from the New York-based private research group showed today. The median forecast of 75 economists surveyed by Bloomberg projected a reading of 73.

The report showed the share of Americans planning to buy a house rose to a record high, indicating improving property values and a job market recovery are making households more willing to make long-term commitments. Sustained gains in consumer spending, the biggest part of the economy, may help overcome concern over the fiscal cliff of tax increases and government spending cuts slated for early 2013.

It would appear that the most recent poll of the American voter is that they approve of what President Obama stands for, and that the Republican members of Congress should take serious note of the consensus.

Falling back on the old "that's what they got elected to do" won't cut it.

I'm sure that they weren't elected to drive the US to economic ruin -- or is that what you intended to say?

The lower lip has to go back in, and they have to put on their big boy pants -- they are expected to be leaders, too.

If the people would have wanted Congress to do what you are suggesting, they would have elected Romney -- a president who would have done just exactly what you want.

BUT -- they did not.

Time to shut up and find compromise.

Why is Obama going out to meet CEO's and workers rather than staying in Washington and making his case with congress?  Campaign time is over and it's time to take care of business in DC now.

I just can't believe he brings this same ole' tired BS up year after year.   And what's even sadder is that his viewers believe it.  But I guess that sells his T-shirts and books, his coffee mugs, his streaming content on his website, etc.

Too bad that there's a lot of money to be made in this country by peddling lies on a daily basis.

Is it the people who are voting on this or Congress?  What good is going to the people going to do?  Obama needs to keep his ass in DC and do what he needs to do and not going around the country talking to the people making stump speeches like he's still running for office.  Tell congress what he wants and why and talk to the senators who are doing the actual voting.
