I've been a fan of Eastwood since The Bridges of Madison County, so when I turned the TV on about mid-way through his conversation with the empty chair, I thought, from the way he looked (gaunt and very old) with his wild hair, apparently searching for words, that they'd given him a spot because of who he was, and there he was, senile, stumbling over words. All I could think of was, "the poor man ... somebody rescue him ... go to commercial, for pete's sake!" It was so painful to watch that I turned to another channel.

When I heard the comments on the different local news stations and Morning Joe, there was not much in his defense, no matter which station I turned to; it was a relief to hear that he'd planned the "empty chair" conversation.

The conservative commentator I heard suggested that the audience was laughing not because of humor, but because of discomfort with the disaster unfolding in front of their eyes.

See, I, along EVERYBODY I have talked to, did not see that at all, as being uncomfortable....I think it may have taken a minute or two to catch on that it was part of his act....he did stutter and fumble a little...you can tell he ad-lib most of his act.  When he made the comment that "Romney cannot do that to himself"...the crowd roared.

In my family, an empty chair indicates a death in the family. Maybe Clint was talking to the nation his party intends to kill ?

As you know Old, Old Clint "Built That" multimillion dollar golf course.  I think he need to built  a multimillion dollar nursing home and take the first room in it. :haha:

He was stammering like Obama does.

OK, put up or shut up.  Show me any speech that Barack made where he stammered and lost his memory like so many of your past Republicans.   Like Clint, Rick Perry, Herman Cain and many many more of your half ass Republican leaders.  :haha:  :haha:  Put up or shut up Chunkett.

Quote the "ME" never more.  "poor people can't afford TV".  Where in hell have you been, have you been in the Good Will stores lately.  You can buy big inch televisions for 7 to 10 dollars and they work "ME".   Microwaves for 5 to 10 dollars and they work.  They work better that the one I have now.

I bought a electric meat slicer for $7.00 and it has worked perfectly.  Also if you buy anything at Good Will that don't work they will give you credit back on anything in the store.  The poor people have been poor for a long time.  They know how to get down and scrap for a living which you never had to do.

If you tell me you had it hard I won't believe you.  Why, because any who has had to get down on their knees and had to scrap the floor for a living wouldn't talk down to and about poor people at the bottom of the pile like you do.  :jc:  Wonder Repug.

If a person is dirt poor they can't even afford that Troll.  You have obviously never been, or known anyone who was, dirt poor.   I know all about Goodwill Troll and am not ashamed to admit I shop there regularly for clothes and household items.

You don't know shit about poor people.  You would step over their body if they were laying on the street.  Never bothering to stop and see if they were injured or dead.  :dead:   That's what Republicans do.  Tromp down and spit on poor, sick and old people.  Just ask Paul Lying Ryan.  :zoners:
