Clint Eastwood was freaking magnificant!  He was completely genius and hilarious.  I have spoke to at least a dozen co-workers and family, who feel exactly the same.  Fuck the stupid ass "pundits".....this whole convention was very, very good.  It energized the republican party....it does not matter one iota what you guys on the left think, or WANT to think, but the Romney/Ryan express is plowing through!
HH they weren't watching last night to actually listen to what was said they were watching to look for errors and things to put people down for so they didn't pay any attention to content at all.  Eastwood even indicated what he was doing when he started.  Did you notice the fake teleprompter like Obama uses in front of the podium?  He eve spoke in the same manner with the "uh uh,"  hesitations and other things he does when speaking.  Racist, no, just simply getting a message across.  Oh, and to show you how ridiculous that race thing is getting one guy on, I think it was CNN, said it was racist for Romney to keep mentioning Chicago because it is mostly black.  I may or may not post the video I'm still thinking about it.

You probably liked the Eastwood thing more because it fit your political leanings.  I thought it was a very bad fit for that point in the night, and was almost ready to slit my wrists by the time it was done.  It was simply boring by the time it was over.

Regardless of content, I think the Romney camp would have been far better served to have played the video in that time slot rather than the Eastwood skit.  Remember that the networks didn't cut over to the convention until the 10 o'clock hour, so Eastwood was the first thing they saw.  Since highlighting Romney should have been an obvious goal, the video would have been a far better thing for the viewers to have first seen than whatever that was that Eastwood was trying to do.

Is that what they're claiming? Because the Romney camp was looking pretty mortified. Maybe they were stupid enough to believe it too.

They were so mortified that they started tweeting about it pretty damn quick after the thing was over to try and cover for it.

It will be interesting to see if the "networks" carry the entire Dem convention.

They was NOT mortified....... c'mon guys, you are sounding really sad here.  It went over excellent by those who were there, and republicans all across the country.  The only ones complaining are liberals.  Roger Ebbert and Rosanne Barr thought it was sad and pathetic....REALLY?

Everybody in my office is hooting about it.....I am getting emails by friends who loved it.  It was genius, and loosened everyone up before Rubio and Romney.  PERFECT  way to end the excellent convention.

What makes you think they would do that?  To even suggest something that ludicrous is almost unbelievable.

You didn't comment on my previous post.  You think the Eastwood skit was better in that time slot than the video that was shown earlier?  I'm not saying that they shouldn't have had it; I'm just saying that I thought it was dry and boring.  The Romney introductory video would have been a far better thing to have shown the national viewers than the skit.

I have no problem at all, with the way it was done.  I did not think it was boring.  I thought it was humorus, and was witty.  It was strange enough at first, it intrigued everyone.  He made some nice, serious comments too...

I really thought it was just fine, and added to the whole closing of the Convention.  A grand slam, if you will.

That's fine.  You're certainly entitled to your opinion about it.  I just thought that the point of the last evening of the convention is a slowly building crescendo leading up to the nominee's speech.  I thought the Eastwood skit was a bump in the road.  ;D

ah, Troll, I have never been more aware of the potential danger this nation faces if we are to continue down this path we are currently on.   I am actually excited, that I think people are waking up and realizing we really DO need a change.  Romney and Ryan are just the ticket to turn this ship around and head us off in the right direction.

I just heard a conservative commentator use the words 'debacle' and 'unmitigated disaster' in describing Eastwood's speech last night.   I'm certainly not alone in my observations.  :big grin:

You and the liberal media are baffled with Eastwood.... ;D

There is still a buzz around the office about it.....

I seriously don't see WHY anyone would think it was a disaster, if they truly watched it, and of course were honestly republican.  It was nothing more than fun....and it no way did it disturb any momentum, because Rubio, made up for it with a brilliant speech....which set up Romney for an "okay" speech in my opinion.  He did fine with it, but didn't knock it out of the park.
