And Smith did what?
Was only in office for 4yrs the first time and he canceled the Emge mess, got rid of the elec bus mess, and started building things up.  Notice Ocky didn't get re-elected.

2004-2007 was a time of great gains in Anderson, Indiana– economically, financially, in quality of life, infrastructure upgrades, professional staffing, visionary planning, open government, efficiency and in environmental strides.

The four-year period culminated in two achievements never-before celebrated in Anderson. The city was listed among Forbes magazine's 100 Best Small Metros for Business and Careers for 2007, and it was named Community of the Year by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

Additional accomplishments included:

Jobs
■800+ jobs created 2006 & 2007
■62 new businesses – 12 businesses expanded (2006/2007)
■Job creation exceeded job loss for the first time in 10 years (May 2006)

LMAO!  You're seriously using Smith's version of what he thinks he accomplished as your source of what Smith accomplished?  Can we say gullible?

If he was so successful, why did the exodus continue?

Yep that's it.  Smith and the Republicans did it all by themselves.  Then the affects of what George W. and Prick Cheney did to the economy Smith didn't do to well.

Forbes said it was in the top 100 small metro areas for business; for people, it's still pretty much a shit-hole.

By the way, if it's so great, why do you neither live nor work in Anderson?

first of all, I never said it was not a shit-hole....it is.

I'm just sayin the Smith seems to have a vision and the ability to make it NOT a shit-hole....but it is going to take a miracle and some time...of HIS kind of leadership to even come close.

But he got re-elected this time over Ocky.

But he didn't directly after the first term during which you claim he accomplished so much.

That's an interesting perspective from someone who asserts that Obama should have been able to turn an entire country around from the mess he inherited in under four years.

But Smith had over 30yrs of dem crap to overcome and that's a lot of crap.

The entire country is getting worse not better as you insinuate so there is no comparison there. You really need to get out more Ex.

I never said he should have been able to turn an entire country around in four years .... but we still have a higher amount of unemployement, higher gas prices, our economy is on egg shells and we are more divided than ever.  I honestly think his energy policies, and economic policies are NOT doing this nation any good.
Smith on the other hand, DID make things better during his first four years....and is optimistic about this upcoming four years...time will tell.
