If the potus beleive this, and what you said is to be true....then this potus needs to be fired, because the people are paying too much at the pump and he is not doing anything to help but make it worse?....

I just spent 10 minutes on a rebuttal..........then I decided to scrap it.  no need to try to prove anything.  I'm learning though.

Henry there is no hope for you, your living in a hole looking up.  But your problem is your still digging.  You just don't get anything someone tells you that are facts.  US presidents don't fix gas prices.  Just go live in your life of udder denial, you don't get it and never will.

Since I don't and won't pray, will someone   :ne1: pray  for Henry.

I'll get back to you on that one. . . I am in an industry that may see a direct benefit from this. . .

And the POTUS just said as much a moment ago, in announcing the approval of a portion of the re-routed Keystone Pipeline project.
He, Obama had nothing to do with the approval of that pipeline it was the states and the Army Corp of Engineers that approved it.  Besides what good does it do if it isn't connected on the northern end?   The oil being drilled now is due to Bush granting permits, Obama has been shutting drilling down.

Correct.

Quote...it was the states and the Army Corp of Engineers that approved it.

No, mostly it was the approval of the private land owners across whose land it has to run.

QuoteBesides what good does it do if it isn't connected on the northern end?

I'm sure if you do a little reading, you can figure this one out.

QuoteThe oil being drilled now is due to Bush granting permits, Obama has been shutting drilling down.

Can you prove this or did you just pull this fact out of your behind because it's what you want to believe?

The real question is why are you people so interested in a pipeline that serves only to help Canadian oil get to a port where it can be shipped elsewhere?

Has Obama issued any permits?  How long after a permit is issued does it take to get a rig operational?

Thousands!

Statistics from U.S. Bureau of Land Management covering only production on federal land:

Number of new drilling permits issued by year.

Number of new wells started by year.

Number of new leases by year.

I would like to believe that she simply didn't know how to find the information.  These statistics do, however, throw a monkey wrench into Henry and the Republican candidates' assertion that Obama has stopped drilling on public land.

By most analysts' predictions, the U.S. is well on track to becoming a major enough oil producer to completely eliminate all dependence on foreign oil within the next decade or so.  For that to happen, however, the oil companies need to be prevented from selling the oil they pump from public lands to the highest bidder on the global market.  It does us no good whatsoever to let these companies drill here if they're just going to sell the oil to China anyway and it compromises our national security, both strategically and economically.

A few decades or so ago, it was discovered that there were huge natural gas reserves under the Netherlands.  The Dutch government decided that because these reserves exist under essentially the entire country, the proceeds should go to the the citizens and used that money to fund things like universal health care and free post secondary education for anyone who wanted it.  The Republicans would like to have us believe that because their government demanded a reasonable percentage of the proceeds and maintains ownership of the rights, this is "socialism".  I would ask them why international corporations should have the right to rape America of her natural resources at pennies on the dollar so they can sell them on the open market while returning nothing to the citizens of the country from which those resources were derived in the first place?  How does that make sense and why would anyone support it?

It's sorta like sticking it to you.  I use to like to fish when I went to Alabama and Florida and I had to pay for fishing license in American Gulf of Mexico.  But so did the residents of Florida at a reduced rate.

But people who live in Florida over 65 fishes in the Gulf free, but a Snow Bird 65 and over has to pay full rate.  It just doesn't seem fair to charge people to fishes in the American shore lines of the Gulf of Mexico, the Alantic and the Pacific.

Ex, I hope that HH and 'me' really take the time to read and digest that post.  That pretty much goes straight to the essence of the argument.

We have some people who are on the Zone who continually cry about the Republican and Conservative beliefs.  They claim that the people just don't understand their beliefs.

They cry about being called names and how they are mistreated by the people who believe in the Democratic way of life.  I believe the Republican Party and it subsidiary the Tea Party is the most evil organizations in America.

Why?  Because they believe the Rich is to inherit the earth.  You must be a Christian and have taken Jesus as your savior.  They believe taking women's freedoms, enter your bed rooms, your sex life, your reading, your movies.  They want to control your entire life and they call it freedom.

But the cry babies here on the Zone agrees with everything the Republican Party and The Tea Party does.  The dirty nasty tricks they pull, the name they call progressives, liberals and Democrats.  Swift Boating, lying and just extortion of the truth and stand there with their hand on the Bible and say so help me God that's the truth.

How many Democrats have said that God told them to run for office, or how God leads them through every day and then commit adultery time and time again.

I have over the year to grow to hate the Republican Party and the Tea Party too the morrow of my bones.  The Republican Party has never done nothing for the working people in America ever!  :trustme:

Here is some reading for you guys too.

"Since taking office, President Obama and his Administration have actively blocked, hindered and delayed American energy production. With gasoline prices quickly headed to $4 per gallon, the Obama Administration must abandon their policies and regulations that are costing American jobs, increasing energy prices, hurting families, harming our economy and threatening our national security by deepening our dependence on foreign energy."

LOL...nothing partisan about pointing out only those permits that weren't granted (and conveniently failing to explain why) and avoiding any discussion of those that were; is there?  The bolded section above is an outright lie as it has already been illustrated that our dependence on foreign oil is less now than it was under the previous administration.  In light of that, wouldn't you think it prudent to question the information presented on your link or is it easier to accept it because it says what you want to believe...even if it isn't true?
