He's got too much invested in his conservatism.

He owes his financial soul to a family business, and he's defended every moronic candidate and his/her positions on this forum to the point where it is impossible for him to recant any part of it; hence, he blindly stumbles forward, doing his best to spin it -- not for us, but for himself. He wouldn't work so hard on the spin if he really believed it.

Cognitive dissonance.

I came across that attitude in spades a decade or so ago on the original Anderson HB forum.  It was from a claimed Vietnam vet whom you and many others here prolly knew, NamvetMike1969, who never could face the disgraceful realities of that war, or the military he claimed to be in, or the country that illegally used him and others there.

I finally understood that what he perceived himself to be was so tied up with that short period of his life that he would have to deconstruct himself in order grasp reality instead of the fiction he created.  That fiction colors everything he says, does, or thinks, and I'm sure it won't ever end.

I wound up simply feeling sorry for him.  He hates me, and I have to admit I don't like him, but I still wish he could exorcise his demons.

Quote"me," on the other hand just has no compassion for anyone. If it doesn't profit her, it is a bunch of sh*t, and all that money that goes to help someone besides her, makes her outraged. If she really used the language she thinks, she would be unsafe at any speed on any forum. Yep, "me," i AM capable of reading your very small mind.

That attitude is part and parcel of what I'm getting at with my series on the Right.  I've pointed out time and time again that the end result of the RW'ers philosophy of 'fend for yourself' invariably ends up as 'nature red in tooth and claw'.  Even nature doesn't necessarily like that, hence social constructs evolved.  Without those social constructs, there's always someone bigger, badder, and more the sociopath to guarantee their genes will survive and yours won't - and that's what we need, more monsters in the world.

Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.  ;)

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ... I think it's dangerous to inform morons about what their fellow morons are thinking. It only reinforces their opinions. And the one thing worse than a moron with an opinion is lots of them." -- Scott Adams

In other words: Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  ;)

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." -- Upton Sinclair

"Hitler is gone, but if the majority of our fellow citizens are more susceptible to the slogans of fear and race hatred than to those of peaceful accommodation and mutual respect among human beings, our political liberties remain at the mercy of any eloquent and unscrupulous demagogue." -- S. I. Hayakawa

That would be a totally wrong assessment of FTW.  I do not begrudge anyone getting rich nor do I think they owe me any part of what they have.  I am so sick of hearing "so and so" makes over so much money so they owe it to see that I get part of it because they have no right to have that much money. The government will not stop spending and if you think those taxes are only gonna  hit the extremely rich you've hit your head because they will hit everyone at some point, and that will be sooner than later, because there still won't be enough coming in. Just look at the other countries where they've already tried what this administration wants to do now.  Is it working there?

I got to agree with Mr. Wolf.  He's got you nailed.  After reading your postings over the time I have been here.  He hit you square in the head.   Honey Poo.

Well the two of you can go right on thinking that if it makes you feel better about yourselves but you are totally wrong.  The intolerance and nasty naturedness of people with differing opinions just amazes me lately.  I am tired of being told I have to agree with people I have a mind of my own and don't have to have the same opinion as you like you all are continually saying.   That doesn't make me stupid, selfish, racist, or any of the other things you're saying it makes me not be bullied into thinking like someone else which is the tactic that is being used you just don't see it for some reason.  You all are parroting the exact things that are being said every day by main stream media personalities and some idiots in Hollywood who think they're super stars.  The Emperor's New Clothes sure comes to mind every time I see one of you post some of the things you do.

Beleive me or  not, I REALLY don't care, but I have been interested in Politics since I was 14 years old.  I pay attention carefully, and I have drawn HARD conclusions, that the overall democrat party is BAD, and they have fooled many into thinking they are behind the working man, when in all reality, they are working against him, and bringing down America.
That is about as simple as I can put it...conservatism is last best hope to restore this nation with a strong economy, and though we have NO ONE who stands firmly on that platform, I WILL stand behind the one clostest to it.  Obama is about as far away from it as anyone who has ever had his power.
I am going to work as hard as I can, do whatever "I" can do, to assure that we do NOT get 4 more years of this leadership.....I love my family, my neighbors and MY COUNTRY.

And there it is in a nutshell.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Over 58,000 dead, nothing achieved and he still claims we "won".

Of course not; he turned it into a career.

Now, there's some deep thinkin' right there.

Perfect fodder.

If you love your country so much, did you take the opportunity to defend it when you were of the age?
