Not sure what you hope to accomplish with your little pasted together videos but you have unwittingly proven what I've said about you do nothing more than parroting what you've heard.  You should try learning to read sometime so that you can actually learn something and form your own opinions rather than having them fed to you by fools.

Fanny and Freddie did not cause the housing bubble or the eventual collapse.  They did contribute to it but they lost market share in the subprime market to the private sector in the years 2002-2007, as the volume of private issue mortgage backed securities exploded.

Tonight while watching 60 Minutes I discovered the most powerful man in the Republican Party.  Grover Norquist the person who got all of the so called Republican "men" to sign his pledge not to raise taxes for anything.

He admitted on the program he want to take the country back to the 18TH Century.  In other words the 1800s.  Where there were only two classes, the rich and the poor.  Where the Robber Barons ruled with an iron fist.

May the Son of a Bitch rot in the Hawk's hell.  :devil29:  :groan:

All you're doing is parroting what you heard so what's the difference?  You choose to read only what supports your warped mind and don't bother to read or hear opposing views much less consider them.  For your info I watched a lot of those at the time and, yes, they are pasted together but they also show that Bush tried to do something and was fought.  It also shows Franks and Pelosi both talking out of both faces depending on what benefited them at the time.

I would say you had your selective hearing on again.

1. The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999, which repealed the Glass-Steagall Act of 1932. During those 67 years, commercial banks were not allowed to participate in investment banking or own brokerage firms.

That separation of commercial and investment banking meant that commercial bank deposits, protected by FDIC insurance, could not be used to make the kind of highly leveraged, high-risk investments that nearly led to the collapse of so many financial institutions.

Although sponsored by three Republicans, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley bill had support within both parties in the Congress and within the Clinton administration.

2. The Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000, which prohibited the government from regulating derivatives.

One of the major causes of the financial meltdown was the misuse of derivatives, the most blatant example being the billions lost by AIG. Wall Street made the bad gambles, but it was enabled by the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, passed by an overwhelming majority in Congress and signed by President Clinton.

3. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were clearly complicit in the unrestrained explosion of the housing market. They spent over $150 million on lobbying from 1999 to 2008 to successfully avoid oversight. Their failures cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars.

4. Turning the Securities and Exchange Commission over to people who didn't believe in regulation. Since that is what the SEC is supposed to do -- regulate the securities industry -- the wrong people were in charge during the years leading up to 2008.

The SEC failed to enforce accounting standards. It failed to supervise the rating agencies. Despite repeated warnings, it never properly investigated Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme.

Finally, in September 2008, even SEC chair Christopher Cox had to admit "the last six months have made it abundantly clear that voluntary regulation does not work."

5. Reducing FBI agents and Department of Justice prosecutors involved in anti-fraud activities. After Sept. 11, 2001, large numbers of FBI agents were properly transferred into anti-terrorism units. The problem is, they were never replaced in anti-fraud.

6. The failure of the Office of Thrift Supervision to oversee mortgage lenders. The OTS allowed the thrift industry to run amok.

One example: Over 50 percent of Washington Mutual's subprime loans were so-called "liar loans," taken out by people who were encouraged to obtain a mortgage without proof of their income.

7. Last, but by no means least, the Federal Reserve was involved from beginning to end -- starting with Alan Greenspan helping to dismantle Glass-Steagall in the 1990s right through Ben Bernanke downplaying the housing bubble as late as 2005.

Nope, unlike you, I started reading about Frank's involvement with no preconceived notions.  You continue to spread lies.

You guys really are clueless aren't you?  I'm sorry but you really are not seeing the whole picture.  I remember you and Ex telling me at one point that those no doc loans didn't even exist and calling me a liar...well...Guess I was right huh?  I was up close and personal with that stuff for 12yrs and it was during that time period I know what was going on.  I watched a lot of those hearings and it is exactly like I'm telling you and like you hear it in those snippets. Go on about your merry way and keep blaming it on Bush though if it makes you happy.

Yes, oh wise one, the old woman who has no education or business experience and very little exposure to the world outside of Madison County knows all and the rest of us are idiots.

Why do I waste my time with such a delusional fool?

That's because she lacks any actual knowledge on the subject and is only parroting what she's heard people like Limbaugh say.

I know enough to know that you're a liar and a waste of my time.  You've lived your life thus far in ignorance; don't let me spoil that for you.

Excuse me.....I didn't post that they had said those things I posted proof that they said it.  Now if that's your idea of lying there is no hope for you at all. You called me a liar about those no doc loans too.  Remember?  Of course you don't because you found out there really was such a thing.

You should look up what it takes to qualify for a no-doc or low-doc mortgage.  The way you describe them and to whom they are available is inaccurate.
