Using that rationale, you can't call welfare a freebie handout if the recipient has ever worked and paid taxes.

It's interesting how people can rationalize the assistance they get from the government as something they deserve because they "paid into the system" while simultaneously denying others who've also done so the same latitude.
You aren't taxed for welfare but you are for Social Security which includes Medicare.  You cannot draw Social Security unless you have worked and contributed.

Medicaid is another thing and is attached to welfare.  Those are freebie handouts and you can get that without having ever worked or contributed to it in any way.

You'll say anything to avoid having to admit that you're taking the handouts you are.  What a hypocrite.

What $1200.00 are you talking about; supplemental insurance?
No the $100+ they take out of my social security check every month for medicare.

That would be Part B.

Which is supplemental insurance.  Also, if you have income other than social security, part or all of your benefits may be taxable.

Supplemental insurance is different than part B. It is bought in addition to part B. And yes, we do pay income taxes on our social security.

According to a poll released yesterday, the majority of Americans now support it as well.

If the Supreme Court rules as unconstitutional forcing people to have health insurance, does tha mean they can't force us to buy car insurance either?

Are you picking and choosing polls to fit your argument?

According to Gallup just today says clearly....More Americans than not want health law repealed.

The same could be said for everyone ....

According to the poll, 52% of Americans favor mandatory health insurance, up from 44% in June.

Medicare part A covers in patient hospital care, hospice care, inpatient care in a skilled nursing facility (not custodial or long term care) and home health care services.  Part B covers everything else that you hear about except medicines and the things that Medigap policies cover. Part A can cost $450 per month if you or your spouse have not paid into medicare through payroll deductions. Part B is generally $115.30 per month for anyone enrolling in Medicare in 2011, it can be higher. Medicare Advantage Plans are sometimes the same price as Medicare A and B and sometimes include part D (drug coverage).  Medigap (Medicare Supplement Insurance) costs are additional to Medicare and can be several hundred dollars per month depending on the amount of coverage.

I can't understand it.  Freddy Mac could have sent one of their employees to Harvard and took 8 year of history and bring it back to the company for a lot less than the $1.6 Million they paid Newt for history lessons.  Old Newt Gingrich is :busted:
