I can remember when I was a teenager and we still had drive-inn movie theaters.  The movies wouldn't start until 9:00 PM because is was still daylight.

Why have it.  It's only a mind game and you don't have to change every damn clock in the house, car and truck and wrist watch.  Seems silly to me.

at least NOW, we are on the same timezone year round.  It was just as much of a mind game when we was on central one half the year and on eastern the other half....

That still carries ZERO weight surrounding validation for playing clock games, as far as I am concerned. It is stupid, and certainly does NOTHING constructive . . .

Instead of trying to be like everybody else, the Hoosier state should have pushed for everyone else to be like us. . .

Japan, India, China, most of eastern Europe, and most of Africa do NOT practice daylight savings time, so any entity doing international business has to go through the time zone math daily; and I don't hear them screaming about it. . . But yet, ignorant and lazy Americans just endure it because some government jackass says we have to!

:fireworks: :jester:  Our Governor Mitch Daniels  :jester: :fireworks:

Now listen to this.  Mitch Daniels the guy who sold our payed for Indiana Toll Road to foreign investors want to do more stupid stuff.

He wants a bill giving him and the Indiana Transportation Agency the power to build toll roads and take any of our highways and turn them into toll roads.  Without any intervention of the State House or State Senate.

How would that be if he turned Interstate 69 and Interstate 70 and 75 into toll roads.  Or highway 31 North or highway 37 into a toll road and nobody could stop him.  We paid for these road with our taxes and he wants us to pay a toll to drive on them.  God damn I want him for our president.

I suppose that would set us up for another sale to outside investors.  Now I heard this out of the mouth of our man Mitch on channel 6 on the 6 o'clock news.

What do you guys think of this bullshit.       I just love Republicans.  We get to pay for these roads and they sell them.

Holy Hell!

Let's see. . . the gas tax and wheel tax are supposed to pay for the ongoing maintenance of the roads we paid to construct with our tax dollars; so if someone's Bitch Mitch turns them into toll roads, and the revenue generation of the tolls is supposed to pay for the upkeep on those roads, then what the hell are they going to do with all of the damned money they are already generating with the gas and wheel taxes?

Illinois continues to rape its citizens with its toll road system; which at the onset was sold as becoming a "freeway" once the roads construction was paid for. Newsflash! It NEVER gets paid for and the tolls now are at the 80 cent per gate mark. . .

I think the toll road idea of Mitch's SUX!

first of all show me where this is an attempt to do such a thing......this is a lot of media hype....let's wait and see what this is all about, before I go all jiggy ...

one thing I do know is:

Indiana had a $200 million deficit when Daniels took office. He balanced the budget, paid off the state's debts, and Indiana had a $1.3 billion surplus when the recession began and was well positioned to survive the fall-off in revenues that have roiled politics in other states. Unemployment in Indiana remains high, but the state is adding new jobs at one of the fastest rates in the country. Property taxes have been lowered under Daniels' tenure by an average of 30 percent. Indiana is one of only nine states to enjoy a triple-A bond rating.

He leased a toll road that had suffered years of incompetent government management to a foreign consortium, over widespread and vociferous public opposition, for $3.8 billion dollars. He used the money to clear a huge backlog of road construction projects and pay for additional improvements. He increased access to heath insurance for thousands of low income families by supporting health savings accounts.

He did so by selling future revenues from the Indiana toll road for pennies on the dollar.  The benefits to the state of that transaction will be gone long before the liabilities but it won't be his problem because he won't have to clean up the mess he left behind.

Hawk, what is this bullshit he balance the budget.  Hell, the state of Indiana owes the goverment million of dollars in unemployment money the borrow.  Please get you facts straight.

And he did say he wanted full control over toll roads and he going to be out of office in less than two years.  OH, what damage this asshole can cause to this state and then he can move back to Washington DC. where he came from. :azz:

Indiana didn't "try" anything; it just chose to stay the same instead of joining the bandwagon. Then Mitch force fed that crap on Indiana with false promises of "benefits" that not only failed to materialize, but in fact were lies. . .

Hoosiers used to know what time it was all the time. Now, they lose sleep over it. . . just to "be like Mike". . .

:devil29: :kissit: Wonderful Republicans :kissit: :devil29:

There is a lot of women on this Zone that seem to have anything say about a woman's rights to control her body.  Or about how the Republicans always trying to put her under the control of the government.

But have you seen Indiana House Bill 1210? Which says that a doctor must inform the pregnant woman orally and in writing the following.  "The possibility of increased risk of breast cancer following an induced abortion."

THERE IS NO LINK TO BREAST CANCER IN AN INDUCED ABORTION.

This is what the American Congress of OBGYN's in July, 2003 said.  They published a paper saying they could not find any link to cancer for an induced abortion.

What are the lying Republicans doing to try to make a doctor to tell a lie to his patients.  Talk about good health care and freedom from political big brothers who lie about medical pratice.  :devil29:

:chair: :knife:  Ladies and Gentlemen have you heard of the budget bill the Republican,  Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan has presented.  It is a attack on every old, sick person in America.

He wants to do away with Medicade, turn Medicare over to private health insurance companies and totally revamp Social Security.  A little extra  money would help Medicare and Medicade and there nothing wrong with Social Security.  Wake up America. :knife:

The Troll

Hey, Republicans did you see the Republican candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court get beat.  He won by 50% in his last election.   Just like I have said before.  There one thing about the Republican Party is that they always step on their dicks.  The Republican Governor of Ohio is going to feel the same thing in the next election.    :bliss:
