Hum, lets see now.  The government has handled it for years and it's broke.....so that didn't really work did it?  Now say you start handling your own in a private account that the government can't touch and it's invested in low risk stocks and the stocks do even moderately well....hum, now that might just work.  Now lets take it even on to the next step where if something happens to you your family gets at least the amount you have put into this savings account, either with or without interest, since it has stayed your money all along and hasn't been put into a huge pot.  It's called being responsible for yourself which the dem's can't seem to get a grip on.  The biggest thing they have against it is that they can't dip into it if it's in private accounts.

  "ME" let me tell you one more thing.  I got one of the best and honest stock brokers in the state.  After hours of research we, My wife and I sat down a decide what stocks we were going to buy.  We had to make a little money on out money.  2% interest at that time wasn't going to cut it.  We took a, for us a pretty good chunk of money and put it in the stock market.

  Dad, a Hoover depression baby had a fit when I told him about it.  He said, "They will  pluck  you guys like a chicken." (stock market).  Well, we thought that, what the hell, people got to eat, Craft food stock.  People got to have power, lights, heat, cooling, power to run business, the life blood of Americ, electricity.  We bought power companies stock in Florida and Texas, hot, and growing states.  We thought if things got a little bad people would smoke and drink a little more and if things stayed good they would party more, so we also bought some tobacco stock and some alcohol stock.  How in hell could thing get that bad in America with all of the controls we had on the banks and stock market since the Hoover depression.  Hell, we didn't know that the Republicans had took off all of the controls.  It started with ENRON.

  Well, we lost $62,000 in the stock market during George W. fucking term in office.  Damn, do I hate the Republican party.  Obama gets in and bring back some CONFIDENCE and TRUST, that's all the stock market has to work on to keep going and we are almost back where we started after over 14 years of getting screwed by the Republican bankers and stock market crooks, when I retired.

  No mattress money won't get it.  Gold would have been the best thing until it has raised so much, around $1400 an ounce and with the fees to buy it and here in Indiana the sales tax on it, it isn't the thing to buy.  That's why I bought gold stock.  I'm looking for something and can't come up with anything but stock pile food and silver money, like dimes, junk silver and other small junk gold things.  Anybody got any ideas.

And the fact that you fly off the handle and call names when someone points that out, also speaks volumes. At that point, you start getting all defensive and calling names, and your anger blinds you to a reasonable discussion of your position.
