Well, all fed employees (civilian) will not be getting a raise for the next 2 years.

And I have read where many of the republican leadership are pushing for the tax cuts for the wealthy be made permanent!

although I think it is a start, that is only a scratch of what needs to be cut.....how many private jobs did not get raises in the last few years....I think these cuts SHOULD be there until it can be proved that raising them will not effect the economy in a negative manner.

Well, lets see. . . that amounts to basic economics. Civilian employees are an integral part of that economy. If they don't have the money to spend they won't be spending it. Just like the rest of us. . .

are YOU serious, so take MORE money from the private to pay for the federal?......THAT should be the other way around.....get the private sector fixed first, that is the way it is supposed to work.  This country was built on the private sector NOT the other way around.....we need to CUT federal workers, and turn those jobs into the private.  The Federal Government is NOT a business....The folks running it are politicians NOT businessmen..

I don't disagree that the freeze is necessary Hank, but it is an example of the bullshit "small potatoes" this congress is intent upon implementing and it does nothing but hurt the working class, restrict the working class, and assure the rich keep riding high on the hog. . .

Don't worry, congress is intent upon removing the tax deduction for health insurance from employers, who will pass along the costs to the employees, increasing the cost of healthcare even more. . . And they'll be cutting off unemployment to at least 2 million people this month so there's some more savings. . . And the whole time refuse to recognize the fact that those things are going to have a huge domino affect upon the economy as those negatively impacted begin to lose their homes, and find themselves with an increasingly shrinking discretionary spending fund. . .

the only thing the republicans want is a way to pay for it.........like give up some of the pork that was attached to the trillion dollar stimulus that was passed a year and half ago....but, the dems don't want to do that.....I say the evil is still in controll of the senate.

And locally work one is telling those receiving unemployment compensation via a federal extension, that their funds will expire December 12th regardless of what tier they are in, and regardless of whether there are funds remaining within the current tier they are in or not, unelss congress passes another extension. . .

Is this REALLY the time to change the practice????? They've traditionally passed extensions without funding them for over 30 years, but when it is needed the most they decide to change the practice???? When it is the most needed they decide its time to change things???? WTF is wrong with you people?

This should be a no brainer, but instead it has become a political lever that is victimizing MILLIONS of americans at the worst possible time of year!

That's okay though. . . fuck them and their families, and to hell with the fact that those millions of families are going to lose their homes, and perhaps their lives over this . . .
