You know how the Republicans say they are Conservative and know how to balance the books of the country.  Here is some questions for you to answer.

1.  Of the last 5 presidents, who during his time in office, increased the national debt by the largest percentage?  Ronald Reagan, minus 186.19%

2.  Who increased the debt by the smallest percentage?   Bill Clinton,  minus 40.6%

3.  Three with the worst performance on the national debt were of which party?  Ronald Reagan -  minus 186.19% -  Republican.  George H. Bush -  minus 53.8% - Republican.  George W. Bush - minus 77.4% - Republican.

4.  Two who had the best performance of the national debt were?  Bill Clinton - minus 41.6% Democrat.  Jimmy Carter minus - 41.3% - Democrat.

Now you tell me who is the biggest bullshitter party.

:sky:  Did you hear what Santa Scrooge Republicans did.  They turn down a vote extending unemployment over the holidays.  They don't want to give a little bit of money for the unemployed, but will give the super rich millionaires a $700 billion tax break to them.

Bless the Scrooge SOB's the greedy bastards.  Happy :pil: Thanksgiving and a Merry :hohoho: Christman.  Poor broke people.  It's to bad your not a millionaire like the men who voted it down.  God they good people. :knife:

What you do not mention is that those balanced budgets occurred only when Republicans controlled both houses of Congress.

No Congress in which the Democrats controlled both the House and Senate has balanced the federal budget since fiscal 1969--more than 40 years ago.

The Republican majority Congress elected in November 1994 presided over two fiscal years with declining deficits—fiscal 1996 and 1997—before it initially balanced the budget in fiscal 1998.

The estimated deficit for this fiscal year (2010) of $1.55 trillion is more than three times as large as the $458.6 billion deficit that President George W. Bush presided over with a Democratic Congress in fiscal 2008. In fiscal 2010, of course, Democrats controlled both Houses of Congress as well as the White House.

Congress gets the credit for the soaring national debt because under the Constitution, Congress controls the purse strings:

Just for the record....Eleven Democrats voted against the measure, while 21 Republicans voted in favor of the extension. Twenty-two members of the House, including 7 Democrats, did not vote at all....

All the republicans asked was for the extension be paid for by the current stimulus....the democrats didn't want to do that....

We got to quit spending money we don't have....THAT is why the debt grows under democrat rule...

again...you tell me who is the biggest bullshitter party.... ;)

How many of the millions of families that will be cut off do you think will be summarily tossed out of their homes? How many of them do you think is acceptable? How many families will have NO holiday, eating potted meat for thanksgiving at best? That acceptable to you?

And all because of this political posturing and pride. The truth be known congress spends more in pork in one month than it would take to give these folks another 3 month extension. . . But no. . . let's whip everyone with a fucking job into a frenzy and starve those who are out of work due to NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN!

What a crock of bullshit on BOTH sides of the aisle.

Lets see how this nation handles the homeless crises, because there are going to be millions more out there real fricken soon. Merry God Damned Christmas US Government and sheeple. I hope you choke on it.

Holding the unemployed hostage over an effort to prove a political ideal is absolutely unacceptable, especially when congress continues to tag pork onto vital legislation that will do NOTHING for the average citizen, but take good care of their corporate supporters and private contributors.

Cutting off the least of us is not the answer you idiots.(Congress) It will only serve to magnify the problems and prolong them. . .

Palehorse is it really too much to ask Congress to give UP other discretionary spending, to pay for things such as unemployment?  Why is it so hard to realize that we are running out of money?  I am all in favor of "helping" those who are the "least of these".....Even though I do not think it truly IS the governments responsiblity, to pass out money to every person who does not have a job......I would much rather see money going to the unemployed here in the United States than the $400 million in aid that we are giving to Palestinians, or the $17 BILLION we spend for Foreign Commerce & Aid!....

I can tell you NOBODY wants anybody to go hungry, here in the US....but, where does it all stop!!!

We need Washington (repubs and dems) to prioritize our spending.....I am betting that we will come up with this money by the end of the month....but, we ALL need to put pressure on Government to start doing the right things....

btw, I DO agree with you, Cutting off the least of us is not the answer, It will only serve to magnify the problems and prolong them.....but we have GOT to get a grip on spending.

Hank, don't you find it a bit ironic that congress waits to get a conscience during the greatest levels of unemployment since the great depression? That for the last 30+ years they've always voted to pass unemployment extensions without funding them first? That they'll vote no to extending them but vote yes to send aid to anywhere in the world?

I don't have any faith what so ever that congress will do anything surrounding unemployment until after the new year at best. They have already proven to America that they do not give one rats ass about the people who are unemployed, and I don't expect that to change anytime soon. . .

Millions of people are going to end up homeless because of their political posturing and use of them as a pawn in their game.

If bullshit and lying was money  $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.  The Republicans would have us out of debt tomorrow.

But I would like to see one thing, all of that foreign aid we're putting out.  I would like to see it used here at home until things are better here.  Let us Pray  that the Republicans will start working like Americans to get America out of the ditch they put us in.  Somebody say Amen.  :pope:
