I think a lot of the problem is people using insecticides and it's not only killing off the bad bugs it's getting the good ones too.   All we do to keep those nasty looking horn worms off the tomatoes is plant sweet basil between the tomato plants it works like a charm and there are no chemicals on our plants at all.

The main reason I dropped out was hobby beekeepers, I could not buy bee packages and queens.  With the health problems from two different mites and the worse of problem "Colony Collapse", where the bees leave the hive and can't find their way back home.  The large beekeepers cornered the market and took all of bees and queens and packages the bee suppliers produced.  I and my friend tried to buy bees and queens from all over the country and there none for the hobby beekeeper.  The commercial beekeepers were shipping them in from Australia to have them.

I have seen those inside glass sided bee hives.  They work, but I sure don't know how you would move and check the comb frames in the house.  There would be bees all over the place.  Because you would have to work them with smoke and a hood.  I don't know what you would do with the girls in the winter.  Since 90% of the bees are female,  I am sure they wouldn't be happy working with you in your house.

Also you might know that over 90% to 95% of the wild bees are gone.  This year I set out some squash, I had blossoms and no fruit, because you need bees to pollinate all melons.  If you happen to see a honey bee today, it most likely belongs to some beekeeper's hives.  This year I did not see one honey bee in my back yard.  I enjoyed them so much.  I hope they can be save.  If we don't we are going to loose a lot of our fruit and vegetables.

People are funny.  I sold my honey raw.  I never cooked it.  I would heat it to 110 degrees to be able to get it in a bottle.  The honey you buy at the store is cook at 165 degrees for 1 to 2 hours.  Burning up all of the good stuff in the honey.

But what got me, I could have of given every drop of it.  But some  people really choked when I asked more money for my honey than they could but it at the store.  Which is cooked, comes from out of the country Mexico, China and many other countries.  I was talking to a beekeeper who owned 1200 hives.  He told me he was talking to a guy for Sue Bee honey company.  He said the guy told him they got a 55 gallon barrel of honey from China and it had a piston and rod of a car in the bottom of it.

My main expense was buying bottles and the shipping cost of them.  Tho I was able to sell all of my honey and  people put in orders for the next year, they couldn't understand why I quit being a beekeeper, until I told them that the commercial beekeepers bought all of the bee packages and queens and shut down practically all of the hobby beekeepers.  With the lower back pain I have now, I know I couldn't have 4 hives again.  I would just like to have one hive in the back yard and not harvest the honey and just let them swarm naturally.  I just like to take a chair out by the hive and watch them.  I did love working them.  How sweet their honey was.

I would rather buy a drum of honey with engine parts in the bottom than one with animal antibiotics Troll.

I :rotfl:  :rotfl:  isn't it great.  With the importation of foreign honey it has all most put the beekeeper out of business of selling honey on the open market.  It is wasn't for the pollination of the bee and renting them out for that use, the beekeeper would be a dieing breed.  So much for free trade.  Isn't it sweet.   The number of hobby beekeepers are almost zero.

By chance have you seen how the Tea Party candidates are hiding out from the news media.  Hiding and keeping their mouths shut.  Hoping that the people will forget the stupid and crazy things they have said and the things they want to do to the middle class and the senior citizens.

Oh, how I hope the American can see through the lies and bullshit.  We don't need a Hoover Depression.  Less us  :preach: :pope:  Hell :devil29: that won't work, they got God on their side.  :rotfl: :rotfl:  It would be funny, if they weren't trying to kill us and America. :knife:

Nothing scares liberals more than the Tea Party candidates. The Tea Party is just what our Country needs during a complete annihilation of our moral fiber and implosion of our economic system. The leftist solution of more more debt, taxes and social programs programs have proven to be a failure. We need people that will exercise fiscal responsibility, secure our borders, and understand that money translates to liberty. The more money we the taxpayers retain the more liberty we have to reach personal goal and provide for our children.

Yes Sir I am.  Just like the Germans should have feared the Nazis Party.  The people of the Teabagger Party are totally crazy.  If the Americans let them take over this country,  Even you Lester will have to bow and kiss the ring of they religious leader.  I would rather have a shooting war with them than bow to their form of religious form of government.  Yes, I am afraid of the crazy assholes.

I may be an Atheist, but I sure see the Antichrist :devil29: in them.

The tea party scares the living hell out of me too Troll, and while our distinguished colleague(s) may disagree with that statement, or perhaps our description(s) utilized in communicating our reasons for feeling that way, it does not necessarily take away from the validity of our concerns.

And first and foremost among my own concerns is, as troll alludes to, the fact that despite a self proclaimed status of superiority over the "accepted norm" surrounding our government and its day to day administration / operation, this party in its fervor fails to exercise and execute due diligence in the identification and endorsement of its candidates.

How else do you explain the fact that extremist practitioners and endorsers have and continue to infiltrate their rank and file, or obtain their very vocal and emotional endorsement? How many times have we already seen tea party candidates receive the party endorsement, only to later find the very same party, that utilized such strong and emotional language and action in support of them, scrambling to distance themselves from them, or worse, do and say nothing to distance themselves from them that would be on par with their initial endorsement? (O'donnel, Paul, etc.)

To me this screams of lethargy surrounding any effort to screen or fact find on candidate endorsement before extending it to them. From what I can see it appears that the tea party doesn't even perform a basic background investigation upon those to whom it extends its endorsement! I wonder just how many of these tea party candidates were smart enough to keep their mouths shut, except to spew the approved party propaganda, and actually plan upon implementing similar beliefs and legislation to those held by the individuals already exposed? I suspect it is more than anyone realizes.

The tea party utilizes emotionally charged statements to obtain the attention of its intended targets, and then further utilizes the same tactic to whip them into a frenzied state, so that they will act and think with their emotional heart instead of an analytical mind set. And they are not above twisting and spinning the facts to suit this objective, and in fact regularly do so! Anyone willing to do the most cursory fact check on some of their propaganda will easily find this to be the case. But they are counting on their followers emotional reaction overriding this possibility, and worse it appears to be working.

And the scariest aspect of all this is what is happening when you combine these aspects, and some others I will not cover in order to shorten this response; it is providing a foothold to extremist sectors of todays society from which to obtain positions of influence and power within our government at the federal, state, and local levels! And most of the citizenry in this country are so focused upon the emotional storms being generated, that they are overlooking that possibility and getting ready to vote in a manner that will not only let the fox into the hen house, but roll out the red carpet for him/her in the process!

Yep, they scare me. They make me doubtful surrounding the longevity of this nation and its future. Yes, once again the American people are about to speak, but the problem is their voices will no longer ever be heard. Instead, the mighty corporation is buying our nation and its government, while the people run around arguing with each other. . .
