Try dislike for the current speaker of the house and her cohorts.  I get very little  email expressing a dislike for Obama and nothing that could be considered actual "hate" email or propaganda email.  All the hate speech I've witnessed has came from the left about people who disagree with anything the current administration is doing.  You can deny it all you want but if you will open your eyes and ears you too will start seeing it.

I won't validate such tripe with a response. Anytime you would like to see some of that crap, feel free to peruse my trash can on Wednesday evenings.

So, you decided to duck answering my question? Especially since you didn't read your own link, which supported my position -- not yours?

Just 'cause Halloween is getting near doesn't mean you get to set up straw men at random.
This blame game is ridiculous ya know.  The Dems still have the majority and can get around these threatened filibusters and get their things passed if they can get enough of their own people to vote for them too and you know it.  There is no way you can blame the republicans if even the independents and other dems in congress don't care for some of the bills and won't vote for them either.  This discussion is, to me, silly as it is only playing the blame game to the hilt rather than a discussion anything of any significance.

This blame game ...
Straw man, straw man, straw man.

It takes two-thirds to kill a filibuster. Neither side has it.

Now tell me why you think it's okay to filibuster a bill providing incentives to businesses who don't outsource overseas. Direct question, requiring a direct answer, not bales and bales of straw.

Are their strings attached to it that possibly make it something other than what it's being represented to be?  Also if the dems are in the majority why don't they have the two thirds required to kill the filibuster?   Could it be that some of them don't agree with it either?

In the 111th Congress the Senate consists of 57 democrats, 41 republicans, 1 independent, and 1 independent democrat, for a total of 100 members. Two-thirds of that is 67 votes. Even if the independent and the independent democrat are added to the democrats that only totals 59 votes, 8 shy of the two-thirds needed for cloture. Math isn't a real strong suit for you, either, I see.

Now, once again ... why do you think it's okay to filibuster a bill providing incentives to businesses who don't outsource overseas? Remember, a filibuster keeps the bill from being voted on. It has nothing to do with debating the merits of the bill.

I'm not asking you to explain the filibuster threat against "many of the bills that are being introduced to become law." Just this one.

...a Democratic bill that would give companies tax incentives to keep jobs at home rather than outsource them abroad stands little chance of getting a Senate vote because of a Republican filibuster.

C'mon, Henry. Explain to me how encouraging companies not to outsource overseas needs to go down in flames.

THAT is not bad, I can go along with that, the BAD part is Congress is NOW going to encourage banks to move up the "risk curve".....in other words, this is only going to force banks to make loans that they would never make because the loans don't make economic sense....and that kind of logic is what caused the housing market to crash....and for that alone, it needs NOT to be voted on.

I just hope your boss doesn't have to turn down a nice big job because he can't get a loan.  Just because he owns a "too small of a business.  It seems that only the big companies can get a loan today.  SIZE DOES MAKE A DIFFERANCE.

If it were an incentive without having the rules of the loans dictated by government as to who gets them and what the requirements are that's fine because some small businesses are a poor risk and shouldn't get the loans but if its one of those "we'll give you the money but you have to play by our rules" incentives I can see why it wouldn't be such a good thing.  Sure wish ya'll would quit looking at the hand outs as a fix for everything and look on down the road and see the big picture.

Wow!  You just bastardized both English and math in one post!  A+ for efficiency!

Well golly gee why don't ya just hang me?  It's good to know yer still on top of the grammar corrections.  How often do I do that?  Give it a rest.  Guess I'll start pointing out your errors too instead of letting them slide and don't make like you don't make mistakes 'cause I know better.

This latest exchange and line of thought just scares the hell out of me! First you squall for assistance for small businesses and tax breaks for the same. Now, when the latest target for republican cloture is exactly that, you squall about it too!

The only thing wrong, from your perspective, is the man sitting in the oval office. Histrionics pure and simple. . .
