Stop the presses, they got video tape of her saying it.

Can Republicans ever stop lying.

What's it gonna take to make politicos (of whatever flavor -- dem, rep or tin-foil hat) realize that everything they say is on the record, and the record is there for reference? If they don't understand they are always accountable for what they say, why should we be surprised they don't hold themselves accountable for what they do?

Well, as long as they have non-thinking bonehead supporters who'll blame it on the type of media coverage, then they really don't have so much to worry about.

On the drive to work this morning, I heard Cal Thomas blame the media for all the fracas over the Florida pastor's plans to burn the Koran.

I agree, they have made a bigger deal out of this....THAT is what this pastor wanted.......he got it.  This is a church of about 50, from what I have heard....had the media NOT made it front page news, this pastor would NOT ever made the trip.....the media is making this guy a "biggoted rock star"....the media WANTS this to get out of hand and turn this into a fiasco.

Oh? And when President Bush nearly choked on a pretzel, I suppose it was the media's fault? Isn't it the media's job to report current events?

Do you think that the media would have picked up this story if the pastor hadn't put out press releases announcing his plans and put up an "International Burn a Koran Day" facebook page?

What about his book? "Islam Is of the Devil."

I suppose the fact that he has called on other religious groups to join him has nothing to do with it?

Oh ... btw ... his church has more than 300 members, not 50.

Oh for goodness sakes! You completely gloss over the fact that this nut job invited attention by putting out press releases and putting up a facebook page and all you want to argue about is the numbers of members his church has. Cal Thomas said "300 members" on the radio this morning.

The media is a business. It sells advertising, based on readers and viewers. Now, if there weren't a market for this crap, would the media waste time and money on it? C'mon, Hank, if you're going to espouse conspiracy theories, ya gotta wear the tin foil shiny side out.

I can tell you for a fact that bodies without heads are lots more common than politicians that no how to use theirs. If politicians practiced independent thinking, they couldn't very well get support from either party. Oh sure the voters might like em, but what do they know? They got something out now that smart folks calls "critical thinking", they teach it in colleges and universities. Only problem is it's hard to teach something you don't know so them teachers ain't had a whole lot of luck so far but they is still hopeful.
What the Hell is a signature? Am I supposed to type something in this box? I guess I'll find out.

and THAT is the root of the problem...integrity no longer exists in that business.

I think we need to define terms here. What is "integrity" when used as an attribute of "business?" I would think business integrity involves giving fair value for the money. In this case, if the media is giving the public what it wants (supported by viewers and sales) what are they lacking in integrity? Perhaps you meant the business lacks moral standards. Of course, then we would have to define that term.
