Facile and misleading.

During the two terms of Evan Bayh: The top priorities of his administration were sound fiscal management, economic growth, and improving education. He favored investment and innovation in education, and state funding for education increased every year of his term. During his two terms, he added 350,000 jobs to the Indiana economy, oversaw the largest tax cut in state history ($1.6 billion over six years) and amassed the largest surplus in state history as well ($1.6 billion).

Then Frank O'Bannon took over, and everything was swell until the economic downtown of 2001, when every state found itself in deficit.

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/extra/features/july-dec01/economy_11-14.html

Still, O'Bannon worked to bring Indiana's economy back.

In both of those years (2002 - 2003), O'Bannon, unlike any other governor in the nation, took steps to mitigate a serious budget deficit and addressed long-term ways to improve the economy.

http://www.in.gov/history/2707.htm

But O'Bannon would not cut education funding. That's what your man Mitch did to "balance" the budget. He cut the money from our schools.

And if you think Indiana's budget is balanced, you must not be counting the $1.2 billion our Unemployment Fund owed to the federal government as of January 2010.

One thing about the Hawk, figures lie and lyers figure.

Henry Hawk

In 2005, Governor Daniels led the state to its first balanced budget in     eight years and turned the $600 million deficit he inherited into a     $300 million surplus in a single year.

These figures have a source attached to it.....and it is NO lie...

btw, OUR schools, is going to be just fine......if THEY would quit build taj mahal's for out kids, they just MIGHT have more money to do better things for our kids....

but, as long as they are focusing on the three R's....I am good with that....and I have three kids STILL in school....they may not have a "drama" club to take up valuable time during their school day.

Why don't we remove the tax exempt status from all the Taj Mahal's of Christianity throughout the country? That would cure it!

It may have a source attached, but it is still a lie. In 1998 (7 years prior to 2005), when Evan Bayh left office, the state had the largest surplus in the state's history. Does having a surplus mean the budget isn't balanced? Today, the Indiana Unemployment Trust Fund is more than $1.2 billion in the hole.

Your Wikipedia article does provide a source for the paragraph. If you click the link you find it is the National Governors Association (a lobbying group) page for Mitch Daniels. And if you check the NGA source, you find it is Daniels own website.

What a DummKopt.  Your suppose to make school fun, where kids want to go.  Not some damn job.  Kid learn better when it's fun.  Not like the old school teacher I had in the Sixth grade, Mr. Bevelhimer.  An old asshole that none of the kid liked or enjoyed.

Maybe you were like that in school, only took the hard and not enjoyabe classes.  Plus being the class brown nose.

What does a fancy building have to do with learning?  As long as they're maintained and have adequate space why do they have to be fancy?  Does that make it more fun for the kids?  There needs to be more discipline, actually fail a kid who doesn't perform instead of passing them on, and show teachers how to teach to make it interesting rather than, like some I've heard about, tell the kids, "here it is now do it".  Kim sounds like a prime example of what a teacher should be from what I've seen her post but far too many teachers just want to put in their time and go home at the end of the day.  If a kid gets it he gets it and if he don't, oh well, too bad, let his next teacher take care of it.

On purpose?  Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit.  You might as well embrace your illiteracy with the same fervor you embrace the rest of your ignorance about the world around you.
