Exactly, PH! They want a pass on the "not real Christians like, McVeigh, Phelps, and the abortion clinic bombers, but can't see past their double-standard to give the Muslims the same lattitude.

Exactly Sandy! Spot on!

Let see, the group that attacked on 9/11....was by a group called the Al-Qaeda, which is a militant Islamist group, that is/was calling for global Jihad....

McVeigh was a nutjob who was seeking revenge against the federal government for the Waco Siege....

that's what YOU guy's are trying to call "similar"...........

Ok.  Forget McVeigh.  What about Eric Robert Rudolph?

well McVeigh was the one we was talking about...Not Rudolph.

I say it is a poor anology....

I'm not defending any point saying there "isnt any 'Christian' nutjobs" out there...there are.

Ok HH.

I'm going pretty much right along with Obama on this one.  I understand and support their right to do it, however I question the wisdom of it.

That has been my position too, but like I said, just because it is a "right", does not make it RIGHT....and in this case it is wrong.....and Americans are rightfully stating their opinions on this.....

That is the whole point for the analogy! You are willing to accept and dismiss Christian Zealotry off hand, but when it comes to Islamic Zealotry its a whole different story? Hogwash!

The 9/11 terrorists were no different than any number of so-called "American Extremist" groups you want to throw into the pot, that run around extolling their messages of hate for government and race, using religion as a means to get their message out. Most of those Jackwagons are sitting in the pews in church somewhere every Sunday, just as the terrorists of 9/11 upheld their religious fervor.

Sitting in a house of worship doesn't make you religious anymore than sitting in the garage makes you a Rolls Royce.

How many "American Extremist" have killed 3,000 innocent citizens in the last decade?

McVeigh got 168. Then there are the abortion doctors that have been killed. What about That Kool Aid Jackass. . . shall I go on, or were the terrorists right and killing a mass in one shot is more effective?

Red Herring -

The fact that the 9/11 terrorists killed 3000 people in one shot versus a little over a hundred doesn't mean that McVeigh is any less a terrorist.

The other Christian individuals/groups mentioned are no less terrorists.

You can't say that extremist Muslim terrorists are MORE so because they're more accomplished.

So, if you won't see past your double-standard to admit that all Muslims are not terrorists then by YOUR definition all Christians are terrorists.

Aren't we forgetting about the historical slaughter that precipitated this mess -- that fuse was lit by the Crusades.

A massive Holy War initiated by xtians in the name of GAWD.

So.........how is that massive butchery that cut deep wounds in the Middle East (a place that certainly wasn't anywhere near the bastions of xtianity -- England, France, Spain, etc.) that are so tragically festering today any different from a holy war declared by islamic extremists in the name of ALLLLLLLAAH???????

Yeah, I think I pointed that out elsewhere here. Now that the tables are turned its a different story. . .

So now Henry, we're going to run a tally sheet that includes the world? To what end? History is history and unless we learn from it of what use is it to us? America has not learned its lesson surrounding religious persecution, or anything else for that matter.

McVeigh was a nutjob working alone extreme Muslims are an organization of many and yes, they are worse than McVeigh.  McVeigh was getting even with the government for a supposed wrong done him if I recall correctly....extreme Muslims want to be your government and ruler plus there are a whole lot more of them than two.
What you're saying is like saying a guy who goes off his rocker because he gets fired from a job and goes in and shoots up his former place of employment is the same as an extreme Muslim.  Remember the phrase "going postal?"

It is NOT Muslims committing these acts of terror, it is extremists. That's the problem you are having, you are persecuting all for the actions of the few.

The Troll

I heard all of the reason about being for or against the building of a mosque in New York.  But it boils down to one thing.  It in the Constitution, it's call freedom of religion and the separation of church and state.  It's the law that they can build the mosque.

But I really think all of this is being driven by the Republican Dirty Tricks Team.  They have wore out the gay marriage thing.  They have worn out the abortion thing.  So they are working of the illegal alien thing and the Muslim thing and the mosque thing.

I predict that the news cycle will be over after this weekend.  I don't think this thing will hold water that long.

It give me a pain in the ass all about the sensibilities.  The worshiping of the poor survivors of 9/11.  It happened, get over it, get on with your life.  Every day people die and and their survivors morn and  life goes on, really what so special about the poor victims of 9\11 other than they did not have any choice in how they died.

For the Muslims to build in NYC is nothing like what the banksters and stock marketeers were saying,  "What we did in the housing market may have be morally wrong, misguided, not Kosher, unfair and shady, but it wasn't illegal.

But for these cry baby people to try to get the government to pressure the Muslims not to build is totally stupid.  At least they will put some people to work building it.  I can't see what the Muslim are doing is wrong, illegal, immoral and it's differently not against the Constitution.
