I can't do that because I don't trust people I don't know to handle my dog.  Nothing against them but I'm guessing that on a scale of one to ten, the average Petco or PetSmart groomer's understanding of dog behavior is about a -5 and I really don't need them f'ing up my pup.  I can only imagine how one of them would have reacted to the drier incident but it probably would not have been pretty.  Me, I'm looking at him and thinking, "that's a really nice dog."   :wink:

I always washed our dog in a galvanized tub in the back yard.  He hated getting washed but it had to be done.  He did like being combed out though and after a while he relented and was fairly good 'cause he knew he was going to get combed afterward. He's been gone for over 20yrs now and I still miss him.

That's a goint point, Ex. Although with a dog like Ben (a retriever) it's not a concern. He doesn't have the power, drive, and I'd say he doesn't have the same intellect level. I'm not saying he's dumb ;D but I would think a German Sheppard processes information differently. Benji's standards are lower. For a rub on the belly I can get Benji to do just about anything.  :biggrin:

Okay, I can see the pics now, I wasn't able to on my phone. He's SO adorable! He has such a mature face, but such a puppy expression in his eyes. He's cute now, but he's going to be beautiful when he's grown.

LOL..it'd be interesting to see if that'd work.  I use a hard rubber ball on a rope in training and was working him in obedience the other night and he wouldn't take a piece of beef jerkey from me...he wanted to chase the ball down!

  It is a true wonderful thing to live with your dog through all of his years.  From a puppy, his youth, his middle age and his old age.  All different and wonderful.  The sad time is when his or her short time here of earth come to an end.  :'(
